Many aspirants have similar confusions but I think you should follow the field of your interest.

One advantage of taking EEE is that you can either specialize in one of its core subjects, topics or switch to computer science, coding if you don't like it. Because, every department has many computers, programming subjects these days.

Placement is good in SSN. Mass recruiting companies like CTS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture and also the highest paying Dream companies like Amazon, Goldman Sachs come here. Many other startups come as well.

Concluding you have to decide, on the basis of your opinions which course do you love, which place do you prefer which has better placements.

Based on 2017 cut off marks I don't think so you will get Mechatronics Engineering because the last year cut off marks for SC category was 178.25 but if you belong to Scheduled Caste (Arunthathiyars) then you will get Mechatronics in Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai because the cut off was 171 and as per your category cut-offs you have only two choices either Information Technology or Mechatronics. Mechatronics is a very good and emerging branch of engineering and opens a plethora of opportunities in the coming years. If you are getting this branch under your reservation category then I will suggest you to must go for Mechatronics Engineering. The eligibility in mathematics at Thiagarajar college, Mumbai is that the candidate should have based B.sc Mathematics as it is a two year graduation coyear. The seat availability is given to students with the highest percentage and then fill up from there on.
