Library Introduction: The central library was established in the year 2001.It is housed in a four-storeyed building located at the eastern side in the main building.The total area of the library is 1197.86 sq.mIt is well equipped with reference books, textbooks, journals, magazines, and newspapers etc. All the books are bar-coded and bar-code laser scanners are used at the circulation counter for book transactions.CCTV surveillance system with 17 cameras is functioning in the library.All books are classified according to D.D.C Scheme.Seating capacity of the library is 300Provides Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) service to its users in addition to the other usual services. Provides photocopying and printing facilities. 34 terminals with headphones and mikes are available in the Digital Library section with internet access facility to facilitate access to the DELNET, NPTEL, e_books and IEEE ASPP online resources.It is main source of knowledge, which is an integral and important part of our institute for higher learning.The library aims to stock all the books and periodicals that the students and staff members are expected to read and enrich their knowledge.
The Department of Physical Education encourages the students to participate in games and athletics to improve their acumen in sportsmanship. Facilities for Basket Ball, VolleyBall, Foot Ball etc., may be utilized by the students regularly. Besides these, there is provision for playing Table Tennis, Carrom, Chess etc. Apart from excelling on the intellectual plane, our students have shown their talent on the playground too. They have brought many laurels to the institution at the zonal, state and national level competitions.
VCET has a well-equipped centralized computer center to cater to the needs of high profile students and faculty in the college. It is housed in a magnificent building having specialized laboratories that provide a variety of platforms and computing environment for all the students. The computer center at a cost of Rs. 2.5 crores include more than 1000 terminals with 12 servers and high-speed broadband (100 Mbps) internet access facilities.
Our college has a spacious and clean canteen with a seating capacity of 100 members at a time. It functions from 7.30 am to 7.00 pm. Stationeries, refreshments, and gift items are also available.
There are five conference halls/auditoriums with ample seating capacity to conduct seminars, symposiums, conferences, meetings, etc. There is a 1500 seater auditorium with the state - of - the art facilities for the conduct of all cultural festivals and college functions.
Transport Rules:Students must board their assigned bus to and from their assigned stop. Switching buses for any reason is strictly prohibited unless approved by the Department of Transportation.No student should travel standing on the footboard.Students must not move around in the bus while the bus is in motion.The consumption of edibles and drinks is not permitted in the bus.Students are not allowed to sit in parked buses during working hours.Parents should consult the College Transport In-charge for necessary details.Students should have written request from parents to go home on an alternate route. Bus drivers must be notified by the college office when approval is given to a pupil to change a bus trip.Be aware that no change will be made in the location of bus stops or bus routing without the approval of the Department of Transportation.Refrain from talking or distracting the driver while the bus is in motion except in the case of an emergency.Students should carry the Bus Card which will be issued by the college after the payment of bus fees through challan in any BoB branch.

Velalar College of Engineering and Technology entered the era of E-revolution by making the entire campus Wi-Fi enabled. The Internet connection is distributed across the college through Wi-Fi networks. The coverage of Wi-Fi is not restricted to classrooms and it extends to all areas including library, conference halls, cafeteria, and hostels. Eventually, it enables VCET to switch over to innovative and modern teaching and learning methodologies. The Wi-Fi system has been functioning with 100 Mbps (1:1) leased line connectivity provided by BSNL. As Wi-Fi security is an area of concern, the internet is secured with the firewall and web access is monitored by the Squid Server.
Communication laboratory has been constructed to enable the students to improve their language and career scopes. This lab contains 70 computer systems with headphones and Globarena software is installed in all the machines. The students can develop their communication skills through comprehensive language exercises provided with the software. The spoken tutorial workshops and online open source software sponsored by IIT, Mumbai are being organized.
Bank of Baroda functions in the campus with fully computerized facilities. The 24 hour ATM facility in the bank serves students, faculty, staff and the administrative office besides serving the public.
