The details of requirements for certificates will be prompted in the Upcoming Dates section in the candidate’s dashboard. After meeting the criteria and scoring the minimum passing score, the candidate will be eligible for the certificate. However, to earn the certificate, one must upgrade to the verified track within the given deadline.

1: Will the certificate include my final grades?

The certificates given by EdX do not declare the final grades of the participant. It only showcases that the candidate has completed the course successfully with a passing grade. However, if one needs to showcase this final grade, they can do so by printing out the course Progress page which records all these data of scores and assignments.

2: Will EdX send a physical copy of the certificate to my address?

Unfortunately, EdX does not offer this service yet. However, the candidate can easily print out the generated certificate! Or he/she can also save a softcopy of the certificate by following the given steps: choose file > print > Choose Adobe PDF as printer > click print > click save.

3: How am I supposed to activate my account?

EdX would send the candidate an activation email on their registered email address. After registering with EdX, simply sign in to your email and click on the link given in the email sent by EdX. It will automatically activate the account.

4: Is a pay later option available to access the courses?

Yes, just start the course as an audit track and switch to a verified track later. Remember that the graded assignments are only available under the verified track option. So, to make the most of this course, do consider switching to the verified track to bear fruit.

5: I am a disabled person and need assistance in accessing exception accommodation for proctored exams. Is it available?

Yes, all you are required to do is reach out and request an exception accommodation for a proctored exam at least a week before the starting date. This special accommodation is provided directly by the partner institution. Therefore, contact your instructor prior to any exam and send a request to accessibility@edx.org.

6: Are my data safe at EdX?

The data privacy policy is clearly stated in the Privacy Policy of EdX. It also does not collect any biometric data. Apart from your profile information, account settings, dashboard, and selective cookies, EdX does not store anything about you in its database.

7: I want to delete my account. How to do it?

Follow the given steps to delete an account on EdX:

Unlink the edX account from the social media account linked with it by following the instructions given there. Reset the password to create a separate password for the account as it will be required to authorise the deletion process. Click on the Delete my account in account settings and provide the new password when asked for.

8: Is there any way I can merge my accounts?

EdX does not support the merging of accounts currently. If you have created multiple accounts, then EdX would recommend you to carry forward with one of them only.

9: How to resolve an issue of inappropriate Learner behaviour?

EdX has Rules for Online Conduct and Strictly Prohibited Items in place to check on scenarios similar to this. If you are facing harassment or an issue of inappropriate learner behaviour, then EdX encourages you to directly contact the course team or report the same to them through the Contact Us option.

10: Are the courses available only in English language?

Currently, EdX is providing the courses primarily through the medium of English language, but some courses are being taught in Spanish, French, and Chinese. However, these foreign languages are accompanied by English subtitles for better understanding and convenience of the candidate.

11: How to unenroll from a course?

Many times, people come to realise that a course is actually not suitable for them or simply they lose interest. EdX gives the provision of unenrolling from a course if one wishes to. Follow the given steps if you want to unenroll from a course: Sign in to the EdX account, Go to the dashboard, Find the course to unenroll, Select the settings icon, and Click Unenroll.
