As per your question. I'll tell about the best for future. I think VIT Vellore is better than IIIT Naya Raipur. I'm telling about both Colleges.

VIT Vellore:-

VIT Vellore has very high reputation among the Engineering collages across India. They show 100% placements.

The academics in NIT Agartala, I'm totally unsure of. As to what I found out when I was researching about colleges for my own purpose, north eastern colleges are a little bit neglected. That's what I read from sources. And even take into consideration the commute to NIT Agartala.

Faculty, coding culture and placement is excellent.

Nirf ranking :75

Campus life is bad

Fee of this institute is very high compare than nit agartala and no fee waiver for sc/st student.

Nit agartala

Faculty, coding culture and placement is good.

Nirf ranking: 42

Both the institutes are pretty new. Placements of CSE of IIIT Naya Raipur are more or less comaparable to placements of Mechanical and Electrical Departments of Newer IITs.

Secondly, I believe if you are getting Mechanical, you shouldnt let go of the IIT Tag. Choose IIT jodhpur Mechanical over IIIT
