Hello Aspirant,
See on the basis of your percentile it is bit difficult to guide you with an accurate prediction so we need your CRL rank to make accurate prediction, you can mention it in the comment section. However if we go through the latest data then your CRL rank must be somewhere around 70000-80000 (just an assumption to give you an idea of seat allotment).
As we go through the latest cut-offs of JEE-Main 2020 of JOSAA 6th round then it shows that :-
Closing CRL rank for IIIT Kancheepuram was :-
So you have almost no chances to get IIIT Kancheepuram with any of the branches.

Hello,
Admission in to IIITs through CSAB counselling is based on All India Rank in JEE Main. Last year in round 2 of CSAB counselling a candidate with AIR 101584 belonging to SC category secured admission to Computer Science and Engineering in Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design & Manufacturing, Kancheepuram if you have AIR around 1 lakh then you may have chances of getting seat in CSE in the preferred institute. If your AIR is above the previous year cut off you have low chances of getting seat in CSE in the preferred institute. The cut off changes every year depending on the total number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of examination and total number of seats available etc.

Making prediction is difficult as cutoff depends upon various factors like :-
-----------) number of students/ candidates that appeared in the jee main exam,
-----------) number of available seats,
-----------) performance of different students in the examination,
-----------) the branch you want,
-----------) the category you belong etc.
-----------) your rank in jee main

Hi,
Now a days , the jobs and placement scanerio for CSE is very good. Because of this most of the students want to get into CSE. For Mechanical, the placement is not that good when you compare with CSE. IIIT Kancheepuram is among the newer IIITs. The Placement of CSE is good with Median Salary of around 9 lakhs. But for Mechanical it is not that good when compared with CSE. Mechanical Students do get placed but with lower CTC. So, if you are feeling CSE in any other IIITs, then you should go for that ,else you can take Mechanical.
In order to predict which other colleges you could get ,you can use this tool : https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor?utm_source=qna&utm_medium=jee_cp

Hey there!
Ofcourse IIIT Kancheepuram is a great institute and ECE is a great branch as well. However if you aren't satisfied with the college or your branch you can wait for better choices according to you. But overall the college is really great with the best curriculum for technology and very educated and respected faculty. The campus is really great as well.
In case IIITDM Kancheepuram is at your vicinity amd you are not getting any Good NIT at your JEE Rank, you can of course consider it over other institutes.
IIITDM Kancheepuram has excellent infrastructure, faculty, research facilities and outlook. Being located near Industrial and IT Hubs at Chennai further provide impetus to training and placements. As far as ECE is concerned, the branch had almost 70% placements the previous year, with major Companies like Samsung, Cognizant, L&T Infotech, TVS, PayPal, Flextronics, TCS, Google, Adobe making their footfalls in campus.
Besides this IIITDM Kancheepuram also has a brilliant record of a good number of students moving to higher technical institutes in india like IIT Madras and IISc Bangalore to pursue Masters or Doctoral degree. This also tells you about the good peer environment and campus culture.
For more information about IIITDM Kancheepuram do follow the link below.
