As per your query I do not think that your seat will be cancelled. You have proceeded for the special round of counselling so I assume that you did not book the seat and left it as a floating seat so usually what happens is that if the candidate does not get an upgraded seat then they will get the previously allotted seat and they would have to complete there admission process with that college.

If you are already allotted a seat in IIIT Kancheepuram then don't worry. CSAB conducts its special counselling to provide admissions to the students on the remaining seats after JOSAA counselling. Generally students who don't get a seat in JOSAA, or who, which have forgotten to register during JOSAA or the students who want to upgrade their seat, registers for CSAB counselling.

So don't worry if you don't get any seat in CSAB. Then whatever your seat is now remains the same.  As you have already a seat, so by this counselling the maximum possibility for you is that might your branch gets upgraded.

Fill the hostel form and submit it on the online portal and wait for the further process. The authorities will reach you with email or text message for further process. You have to be patient because all the process is online and may take some time. Keep checking your mail at regular intervals.

NIT Andhra Pradesh is a better college to pursue your engineering studies in although for design courses IIITDM is a better college. If you receive a seat in ECE in NIT AP, do not miss it. Accept the seat and take admission. Then try for branch improvement through high CGPA in first year (very competitive) and upgrade to CSE branch.
moreover at the end it's gonna be your decision in which college for interested and in which field you are more stable to do best so choose wisely.

In terms of branches , ECE has better scope and placements than metallurgy.
Also , IIIT kanxhipuram has good placements for ece branch with following records'

According to your question and taking into consideration that you want to know about the two branches of these colleges which is metallurgy and ece.

I would personally recommend you to go for nit Warangal metallurgy and the average package for this branch is 7.2 L which is quite impressive for a core branch.

Whereas IIIT kancheepuram ece has not any out of the box placements.

No , iiit kancheepuram is not a deemed university it's not any university it is a college (institute ),

MHRD recognized IIITDM Kancheepuram as an “Institute of National Importance”. It grants admission to Bachelor of Technology (BTech), Master of Technology (MTech), Intergrated BTech and MTech, and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).

It is a government run institute so it's very good to get admission,

In July 2011, MHRD recognized IIITDM Kancheepuram as an “Institute of National Importance”. It grants admission to Bachelor of Technology (BTech), Master of Technology (MTech), Intergrated BTech and MTech, and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). NIRF ranked this institute between 151 to 200 among the engineering colleges in India. Premier companies like Tata Consultancy Services, TVS, Samsung, Google, etc. had visited for placement. The highest package offered was 55 lakhs per annum (LPA).
