You are a final year student so if you will give cat exam in 2020, so it will actually not considered that much gap, because according to timeline you will complete your graduation in the month of June or July in 2020 only. So, it will not be a big problem if you will give cat 2020.

For OBC candidates the minimum overall percentile required in CAT is 75 with the sectional cutoffs being 65 in each section. But you should score 80-85 percentile in order to be on the safer side as IIMs do a very rigorous shortlisting based on the profile, candidate's CAT percentile and extra curricular achievements.

In order to get a call from IIM Ahemadabad you need to score at least 99.67+ percentile but CAT marks are not the only parameter involved in the selection procedure. After CAT exam every college prepares a merit list to call students for next round of interview based on your aggregate score which comprises of many parameters such as CAT marks, 10th, 12th and graduation percentage, work experience etc.

The admission is purely based on the merit list.

No,there is no such option.IIM Ahmedabad takes admissiom based on components like CAT score, performance in Analytical Writing Test (AWT) and Personal Interview (PI), work experience and academic record for admission into Postgraduate Programme in Management (PGPM).

You will have to clear the CAT exam and get shortlisted for the interview,There,you have to clear the various stages of interview which includes GD.PI,written test and final interview.Only then you can get an admission into IIM-A

The cutoff percentile for IIMs and old management institutions like FMS Delhi ranges over 99 percentile.  New IIMs like IIM Sambalpur, IIM Ranchi require 90 percentile as their eligibility criteria. The cutoff is decided on the basis of following points :

1. Exam difficulty
2. Number of test giving candidates
3. Number of candidates who qualify the exam
4. Total count of seats
5. Ranking of the institutes
