All 3 IIMs are equal in terms of the bare functions of education placements faculty. Where they differ is culture
people choose IIMB over IIM a for various reason
Hi Chandni,
See, the best choice is what you can make on your own. Rather than looking for alternatives, it is better to get your preferences over anything else. Both Bangalore and Calcutta are best in terms of everything. Be it placements or academics r anything else, you can opt anyone from them.
But as per my opinion, I would go with Bangalore because there are several advantages as well.
You will enjoy your life in IIM Bangalore and for sure you will be free from politics as well. Although, bangalore will be quite expensive as compared to calcutta due to high standards of living. So, the choice is yours.
I hope this information helps you.

The purpose of the programme is to complement the excellent functional knowledge and experience that participants possess with contemporary management knowledge, thereby preparing them to manage greater responsibilities in a liberalized and globalized economy.
Students are provided a strong grounding in general management through the core courses in the first year and ample opportunity to acquire specialized knowledge through a rich choice of electives in the second year. A unique feature of this programme is that students can choose not only from the electives that are offered by the PGPEM but also from the other degree-granting programmes at IIMB.
All the best.
Hii
An interview round should always be considered as a round of acceptance, not a round of rejection. The purpose of an interview round is for the panel to judge the authenticity of your application, assess how presentable your personality is and evaluate your communication skills. Contrary to popular belief, interviews usually do not go beyond a pre-determined scope. Your profile, your ambitions and relevant world affairs will constitute a major part of your interview. In the given time constraint, there are only a limited number of questions that a panel will ask you on these grounds.
The IIM Ahmedabad PGPX interview starts with an extempore. You would be asked to pick up a piece of paper on which a topic would be written. Usually the topic would be current and likely to be based on your area of experience. In 2020, a key question could be the impact of COVID 19 on your area of business / work.
Some of the other key topics could be:
India towards a USD 5 trillion economy
“Atma nirbhar Bharat”
The Reserve Bank’s role in the Indian economy
The role of the media in India
The coming of age of Rural India
You would be given some time to think (around 2 minutes) and then asked to start discussing the topic with the interview panel. Understand that while the panel is looking to test your knowledge, it will be more interested in your own opinion / views than mere information which you would have read in newspapers / on the internet.
Best of luck.
Hii
The Weekend or Full- time MBA at IIM Bangalore are both considered good. Post Graduate Program in Enterprise Management (Weekend MBA) is focused on mid-career and senior executives whereas the Post Graduate Program in Management focuses on the professionals at the entry-level.
All the best.
Hi Nimisha,
You have posted the same query twice. Please read the response. If you have any further query, feel free to ask. The pay scale of Assistant Professor starts from Rs.17.56 lakhs. So if you are eligible, the profession is noble and rewarding.
In order to become an assistant professor in any of the IIMs, you need to obtain a PhD with an excellent academic background. To become eligible as a full-time faculty at any IIM you must have a doctorate in management or equivalent Fellow Program in Management (FPM) from any of the IIMs or XLRI. Candidates without a PhD can also join IIMs to teach as part-time or full-time guest faculty on contract appointments but cannot become permanent faculty at the IIMs till they get the doctorate degree.
To apply, you need to visit the official websites of the respective IIMs. They usually advertise/invite candidates to fill their vacant positions. You can directly apply by posting your updated resume.
Hope it helps! Best wishes.
