Dear student,

There is no management quota in IIM bangalore. The admission is purely given on the basis of the exam called GMAT or CAT exam.

So, you have to prepare for CAT or gmat exam and have to secure a good score in any one of the exams to get a seat in Management program of IIM bangalore.

Hello

First of all, the basic difference come in the cost of both the courses. Any course in Canada (specially a course like MBA) will cost you way mor ethan it will in India. IIM is one of the top business institutes in India however completing your mbs abroad will give you a much wider perspective.

To get admission in UoT you will need  a GRE score of around 320,work experience with proof, references, two essays, and a TOEFL score of around 650 whereas for IIM you need to clear CAT with a high percentile.

In UoT you can get placed at various MNCs like Johnson & Johnson,Louis Vuitton, Pepsi-co, Amazon,  P&G, Nike, L'Oreal, Unilever etc whereas in IIM y ou can get placed at  Bain & Company ; Accenture Strategy ; Amazon ; Kearney ; McKinsey & Co. and PwC Tech  with average CTC at 30 lpa.

Lastly, it is a matter of pride to study at both the instittes however with regards to India and the insian society, studying abroad is more prestigious.

I have given you a gist of comparison. Both are equally good, it depends on what your expectations from your life are. All the best!

Hello Aspirant,

This entirely depends on your personal interest and career goals. MBA and MCA are two different streams , hence you cannot compare them. If you want to take up management roles in future or start your own business then MBA form IIM would be the ideal choice. MCA is also a good choice if you are interested to get into technical software career then it is good choice but you will have a tough competition with software engineering graduates and MSc computer science graduates , hence you will have to put in extra effort to stand out. Also will have to keep updating your technical skills from time to time to stay in valued in the job market. But one advantage here in your options are the institutes , both IIM and NIT are premium institutes for business studies and technical education respectively, so you will get a very good placement if you perform well in the course. In MCA , another point to remember is that many people after completing it may take up M.Tech degree to improve their career prospects. So think about what you want in future and decide , at the end building a successful career depends on your talent and hardwork irrespective of your degree of college.

Hope this helps

Hi Aspirant,

Usually MBA aspirant thinks that good CAT score is enough to get a call from IIM, but the reality is call from IIM does not only depend upon the CAT score but also depends upon the overall academic performance and WAT/GD rounds. Some IIM's give preference to work experience or UG streams so its totally upon them but only CAT score is not enough to get a call from them.

I hope this will help you.

Thank you

Hey,

Sorry for that but your academics are pretty low. But belonging to a SC category might fetch you a chance to get a call from IIM A, B, C. All IIMs have different parameters and the weightage of these parameters also differs from college to college.

I will advise you to personally visit the official website of these college and look for the last year cut offs as well as their criteria of admission. Scoring above 97% percentile will be a pretty decent score and can help you to some extent in getting a call from either of the college.

All the very best.

Thank you.

Yes they have! What matters the most is your overall profile not one or two features of it. There is no bar that people with less than 90% marks can not be admitted. It only depends on how much you are able to impress them with your overall profile. Try to highlight your work experience if any. It will benefit immensely. Interviewers need to see that seal within you to excel.

Good luck!
