Course Overview

The ‘Chinese Language in Culture: Level 2’ online certification course is a study of the basics of the Mandarin language to gain knowledge of the culture and mandarin society. This language course helps one to acquire communication skills to relate better to the socio-cultural thought process and linguistic components of the community. The online course is provided by the Edx education platform in partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The classes in this program are conducted online for a period of eight weeks with students having to spend five to seven hours every week to complete the program.

The students of this course are led by the instructor, Haohsiang Liao who is the director of the Chinese language program at MIT. The participants of this introductory course are engaged with performance-based tasks to exhibit effective basic level writing, reading, and listening skills at the end of the program.
