Batch of 2018 | B.Tech Mechanical Engineering
The college is quite good but it a lacks proper infrastructure. We must be provided industrial visits more often..also, placement package is not that high and major industrial firms recruit very fewer people. Development is still in progress in the case of infrastructure. Few hostels are good while few are still in the pathetic condition which exists since 1960! The renovation is necessary. Education is quite a good but I guess the interaction and friendly teaching must be provided.

B.Tech Mechanical Engineering
"Any average NIT is expected to ace certain departments like infrastructure, placements, faculty and scope of higher studies. So,I would like to review my college on the basis of these parameters. (Personally, I am a Mechanical Engineer completing my graduation this year, placed in JSL and TCS-EIS). INFRASTRUCTURE is good but it isn't in the vicinity of what you could expect in a nationalized college particularly with the millions of grants coming every year. Several questionable activities of the top management ensure that the development activities remain limited and grants being inefficiently used. PLACEMENTS aren't up to mark particularly to the extent you expect in an NIT....placement cell consist of a set of highly inefficient faculty members who aren't able to successfully manage and deliver good results...Sometimes two companies fall on the same date and students have to choose between one or the other which reduces placements considerably. FACULTY- well this is an area you can be satisfied with to some extent particularly in the core branches...No complaints...The profs are highly qualified with loads of experience. OTHER FACILITIES like canteen and clubs run by the college deliver satisfactory performance. The administration is an area where the college needs to improve a lot..A state of Anarchy developed by the director and registrar with not much of say of students in the administrative activities makes the college a tough place to survive....
