48 MonthsBachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Chemical Engineering is a four-year (8 Semesters) full-time undergraduate program offered at National Institute of Technology Karnataka Surathkal.
The department offers an undergraduate program in Chemical Engineering and three postgraduate programs with specializations in Chemical Plant Design, Industrial Pollution Control, and Industrial Biotechnology. In addition, M.Tech (Research) and Doctoral programmers are also offered. The department also offers product testing and industrial consultancy.
The students graduating from the department are well placed in the profession both in India and abroad. Also, a good number of students pursue higher studies in India as well as in other countries like USA, Canada, Europe, Singapore, South Korea, and Australia.
Eligibility Criteria
Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the chemistry/ Biotechnology /Biology /Technical Vocational subject.
Admission Details
Admission to all courses will be made in the odd semester of each session at the first year level based on the relative performance in the Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE-Main) and qualifying examination as per the guidelines issued by the MHRD, New Delhi from time to time.

College Infrastructure
The course is divided into six trimesters , with three trimesters in each year . The evaluation is based on two components : 50 marks for internal components comprising assignments and presentations , and 50 marks for the end of the semester exam .
