Hey buddy,

As both the universities are great in terms of their education, faculty and placements, both are similar but i think ANNA university is better than SASTRA in terms of core companies that come for recruitment at Sastra university.

Hope it helps.

All the best.

Hello,

SASTRA is one of the best deemed to be university in Tamil Nadu . They have 98% placement for the Bachelor's degree . They  have good infrastructure , students get good exposure from university and a helpful faculties to support you.

Not only for IT for most of the branches students get good placement opportunities and they have good academics background.

You need to apply online to get an admission and the counselling depends on you JEE main marks of 75% plays a important role to get call for counselling. This college is purely based on Merit.

hi,

see sastra university offers b.tech courses in various stream, it is one of the prestigious university in india, has excellent placement record, as well as university has experienced process, high qulality lab facility. every year numerous candidates apply for sastra university admission process for bachelor of technology course.

admission In b.tech course is based on two stream,

In stream 1 mode, admission is based on jee main score and 12th score.

weightage is given as , 75% weighatge is given to 10+2 score, where 25% weightage is given to jee main score. among the total number of seat for b.tech course, 70% seats are fills by stream1 mode,

in stream 2 mode, admission is based on only 12th score, 30% seats are fills by stream 2 mode of application process.

now coming to your score, your 12th score is low, where highest weightage is given to 10+2 score.

but I suggest you to participate in counsellng, since cutoff score changes every year, it depends on the number of applicants, students category , seat matrix etc.

also for making the best possibilities apply for other counselling process or Institute also.

Yeah,U can try to apply but shastra gives more preference to tamilnadu students but ur score seems to be good.so,best of luck.

Here's the extra information

SASTRA university has a separate procedure through stream 1 and stream 2 .

Stream 1 .

70 percent seats of every branch are filled through stream 1 based on 12 th percentage ( 75 percent after normalisation ) + JEE mains score ( 25 percent )
For example
12 th percentage - 88 (CBSE) and JEE mains score is 80 .
Normalised percentage of board would be as follows
88 * 100/98.6 = 89.25
( Assuming percentage of topper is 98.6 )
Now 89.25 * 0.75 + 80 * 0.25 =86.94
This is your final score . AIR (SASTRA) is prepared based on this final score . There is a chance AIR up to 4000 .
If someone is a topper of board exam and his JEE mains score is 40 then final score would be 85 and AIR (SASTRA) would be above 5000 . It proves thatthere is no chance for JEE mains score below 40 in stream 1 .

Stream 2 .

30 percent seats of every branch are filled through stream 2 based on 12 th percentage .
There is very less chance for percentage below 95 in stream 2 .

hi,

see sastra university has two mode of admission, in stream 1 mode admission is based on 12th score + jee main score, where 70 percentage weightage is given to 12th score, 25 percentage weightage is given to jee main score, however since number of candidates is huge and right now cse is one of the demanding stream in india, you have less chances to get cse in stream 1 mode, in stream 2 mode admission is based on only 12th score, however 70 percentage of total seats fills by stream 1 mode of admission process. so I suggest you also apply for stream 2 mode or again you are appearing in jee main exam give your best for the exam.

Greetings Aspirant,
It depends on the branch,
If you want to take CSE, ECE, EEE, CIVIL, mechanical ( Core Branch's), a minimum score of 975 is needed.

For the rest of sub-branches, 965 & above is the safe zone.

Hope my answer Helped You.
Best of Luck For Future

hi,

your question is not clear, see sastra university has two way of admission process, in stream 1 mode, the cutoff scores is calculated by taking jee main and 12th score percentage, where 25% weightage is given to jee main score and 75% weightage is given to 12th score. 70% seats are fills by stream 1 mode of admission process. if you have any more query you may ask in comment section.

thank you.

Admission in Sastra University for B.Tech and Integrated M.Tech course is done on two modes

1. 70 % of seats will be filled based on +2 aggregate marks and 1st JEE Main Score.

2. 30% seats will be filled based on +2 aggregate marks

Since only 30% of seats are available in mode 2. It will be a tough competition. But you can be confident enough since you have a very good percentile. Best of Luck.

Admission in Sastra University for B.Tech and Integrated M.Tech course is done on two modes

1. 70 % of seats will be filled based on +2 aggregate marks and 1st JEE Main Score.

2. 30% seats will be filled based on +2 aggregate marks

College Infrastructure

My experience with this college is a mixed one ..The infrastructure of the university is good and is the most remarkable for the computing programs The research facilities here are top notch with fully equipped Labs and great professors (not all but a few ones are very experienced and influential in their field..other buildings are average and there is a wifi facility available 24/7 for laptops..no cycle is available ..The food is good..but everything has its bad days too..the form is quite clean

it is good feel to write review for helping juniors
