Hello Abhinav
SASTRA:
Pros
-Very Good in Discipline.(Attendence is must to have and other rules)
-Quality of Students is good as admission is purely merit-based.
-Good Brand and social recognition. It is like BITS, pilani of Thanjavur.
-Research oriented and practical Education.
-Good Placements.
-Mechanical Engineering used to be the best branch in SASTRA for placements.Hope it is still the best.
-Low fees compared to other pvt. colleges.
-Few Institutes abroad prefer SASTRA students for admissions in higher degrees. It is because of the MOUs signed.
Cons
-Useless classes. Not much to learn. Most of the times neither teachers nor students are willing to learn.
-Very few Core companies came for ECE during my stay.
About VIT only few things that I know:
-Very good infrastructure
-Huge Brand popularity is there but it is mostly because of the ads they give.
-Anyone can get admission in VIT if he/she has money in his Pocket,( which is very difficult in SASTRA as there is no Management Quota for admissions there.)
But, few good students are also there in VIT and most of them come through merit.
-Placement should not be a problem for VIT .Who would like to pay them heavily otherwise if they don't keep up their promises. Still, it is not the quantity of placements rather the quality that matters ! Most of the students are recruited in bulk recruiting companies like TCS,Infy,CTS etc.(This is a problem with SASTRA as well)
Hello aspirant
Percentile is not required for Sastra
It take admission based on two factors
Hope this helps
Good luck
Hi Jayanti,
I am very sorry to say that you have a low chance to get a seat in Sastra University with these marks. You may try with stream 2.
The admission is based on two ways:
Stream 1: JEE main marks + board exam marks (70% seats)
Stream 2: only board exam marks (30% seats)
There is no specific cut off to get a seat in SASTRA University. It depends on the student who scores the highest marks. If you have appeared for JEE Mains then apply under stream 1. If your board exam marks are 90-95% and JEE main marks are between 50-120 then you can get admission under stream 1.
For stream 2, your board exam marks should be at least above 85-90% to get a seat and if it is more than 95% you can get a good course.
Hope it was useful to you and your query was resolved.
Feel free to contact us for any queries.
All the best :)

Both the colleges that you have mentioned i.e Ambedkar college and SASTRA University have a decent curriculum for law students.
Ambedkar law University College offers degree, diploma and certificate programmes to aspirants at the undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) level. Infrastructure is far excellent than other government colleges. Classrooms are air-conditioned. Placement is quite good. Corporates will come for placement and sometimes law firms will come according to their needs. Moreover, law professional don't depend upon placement since they can make up their own. The main thing about this college is they will give you a Hons degree.
SASTRA University: The college offers one of the finest placement that can't be found in any other institution. A lot of companies visit the college to offer placements. Every candidate gets placed in any of the finest companies across the world. SASTRA is great for placements.

I really like this colleges based on placement based on my optionion you can join our college. Little bit strict but that’s Okk. In our college infrastructure is better I’m currently doing my Bsc degree in sastra university
My experience with this college is a mixed one ..The infrastructure of the university is good and is the most remarkable for the computing programs The research facilities here are top notch with fully equipped Labs and great professors (not all but a few ones are very experienced and influential in their field..other buildings are average and there is a wifi facility available 24/7 for laptops..no cycle is available ..The food is good..but everything has its bad days too..the form is quite clean
