Global Health Ebola COVID and Beyond at University of Maryland Global Campus, Largo

After completing this Global Health: Ebola, COVID, and Beyond certification syllabus, why do local health issues have a global impact, and what factors influence a society's health? What we've learned from SARS, Ebola, Zika, and COVID-19 in the year 2003 SARS outbreak and the 2013-2014 West African Ebola epidemic focused the world's attention on global health. Despite the fact that a Toronto medical center and a Dallas hospital were far from the outbreaks of SARS in China and Ebola in Guinea, those diseases arrived and created crises within these facilities and elsewhere. COVID-19 is a continuing pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2 that has disrupted global social and economic order and once again highlighted the importance of collaborative public health and humanitarian efforts for containment and knowledge exchange. According to research, health security helps to maintain civil order, economic growth, and stable governments. It has also demonstrated that the economic and human costs of disease, illness, and injury are shared by all nations.
