Acharya Brojendra Nath Seal College, Cooch Behar Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The college Boys' Hostel is a residence of meritorious students from the distant neighboring areas of the district. Life in this hostel develops academic intelligence as well as social consciousness and creativity of mind. The first students' protest against military autocracy was initiated by the boarders during the British Raj on 8th August 1946. The Hostel Building is a unique piece of traditional architecture in the skyline of Cooch Behar. It is compulsory for all students to vacate their hostel seats after three years of admission. This period will not be extended under any circumstances.

The College Girls’ Hostel is meant for regular female students of this college. Boarders must obey the following rules and regulations as also those which the Principal of the college or the Superintendent of the hostel may enforce from time to time. The rules laid down here, come into force with immediate effect. It is compulsory for all students to vacate their hostel seats after three years from the time of admission. This period will not be extended under any circumstances.

The college has its own Health Care Center. The college conducts a Bi-weekly routine cheek up of the students of this college by a qualified part-time doctor deputed by CMOH, Cooch Behar. The college maintains Health insurance schemes for each student for a period of 3 years/ 5 years.

The College also houses a gymnasium with the requisite equipment.

The college itself has a well-equipped library located in a separate building on the college premises. It has a Reference section; a lending section and a Reading Room. The reference section has books on diverse subjects including Encyclo.

The College playground measuring about 10,000 sq. m. is well maintained. Each year's annual sports meet is a pompous and gala event of this College. The students for over more than three decades are participating in various competitions. They have won laurels in this state-level competition too. Outdoor games like Football and Cricket etc. are held in the playground. The physical education department of the College looks after the progress of sports and games of the college. The College team regularly participates in the Inter-Govt. College and Inter-University Football and Cricket Tournaments and Athletic meet. This year college won the Champion Trophy in Inter-Govt. College Athletic Meet. The College provides ample scope for the development of an integrated personality and it takes a keen interest in promoting co-curricular activities of the students. Each year competitions are held in various events like debates, music, extempore speech, quiz, etc among the students of this College. the college won 1st and 3rd positions in the state-level Inter-College Quiz Competition at Kolkata.

The College arranges basic level Computer Learning Programs for interested students. The program is monitored by informed and experienced teaching faculties. The Computer Cell of the College has the necessary infrastructure to provide hands-on training to the participating students. A computer literacy cell has been functioning in the college for the last couple of years to make the student acclimatize to the changing global scenario.

The College has Students of the College and the teachers traveling from long distances can probably get refreshed by the beverages and sumptuous lunch served in the College Canteen, Kalaswar.

The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.

The College has Well equipped laboratories capable of extending research facilities in lab-based subjects, namely, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, and Physiology.
