72 MonthsDoctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program in Microbiology shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including coursework, and a maximum of six years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned and offered by Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli.
Eligibility Criteria
For Candidates with M.Phil. qualification, their PG and M.Phil. programmes must be in the same Subject / Discipline, and they must further qualify for the Ph.D. Entrance Examination.
Candidates with the following qualifications are eligible to apply for the Ph.D. Entrance
Examinations:
(i) 55% of marks / 5.51 of CGPA in the 10-point scale under CBCS or above for OBC/OC/BC/BCM/MBC/DNC category
((ii) 50% of marks or above for SC / ST / Differently-abled category
(iii) 50% of marks or above for those who got a Master's degree before 19-9-1991
