The Department of Microbiology was established in the year 2003 with the postgraduate program and in 2004 with the undergraduate course. The research program comprises M.Phil and Ph.D. which was started in the year 2005 and 2007 respectively. The department has a strong link with the Kovai Medical Center and Hospital and other institutions of the trust where there are a number of ongoing research projects. The department is armed with well qualified, dedicated and experienced faculty members. The department is committed towards the healthy academic (curriculum and co-curriculum) growth of the students as well as fostering the teaching and research activities of the faculty. The Department engages in various Projects supported by DBT, ICMR, UGC, DST, DRDO, CSIR, and TNSCST.
Eligibility Criteria
The Candidate should passed in B.Sc Microbiology / Industrial Microbiology / Medical Microbiology / Botany / Zoology / Biology / Biochemisty / Biotechnology / CLT from any recognized university.

College Infrastructure
Dr NGP arts and science college has a well equipped infrastructure, including modern classroom facilities, laboratory facilities and library and sports facilities. The campus is WiFi enabled. The college also provides hostel facilities for students .

College Infrastructure
Impressive infrastructure at Dr.NGP arts and science college! Spacious classroom,well equipped lab,vast library, and modern auditorium. Sports facilities, Wi-Fi,and clean campus create a conducive learning environment. The campus is surrounded by greeneries.
The college falls short in critical areas like placement .
