WIFI labs library canteens common room everything is present. Environment of college is very friendly. Good and pollution free atmosphere of Chandigarh all sports facilities are also available in the university.

Teachers are very helpful with full clarity of their subject and highly qualified as all core subjects were teached by professors they provide you all industrial applications of that subject and also shows experiment to clarify the concept. Semester exams are average everything is from notes.

Average package 5-6 lakhs highest package 11 lakhs almost 80% students placed. ExxonMobil is our top recruiter. Lowest package is 3.5 lakhs given by infosis. Almost 50% students got stipend internships from UOP Honeywell reliance and these companies also provide PPO.

The overall cost for chemical department is decent of 20000 and yes it is value for money as placements are good and fees is low.

Many places to explore in university like Gandhi bhawan, AC joshi library, Student Center, Botanical Garden and many more. Our annual Fest Cyanide takes place in February and many fun events were there.

Our department is in the center of Punjab university and all mode of public transport are available to department.

Despite being one of the oldest department in the university the infrastructure is pretty good. The department is located in the center of the university with closest access to university library and StuC. There is Wifi connectivity all over the campus. The labs are well equipped with all the essential equipments. The department as its own library and auditorium as well. The quality of food is good in hostel. Every hostels have common rooms with well furnished sofas and indoor games and a TV.

All the faculty members are very helpful with great knowledge of the subjects. Some teachers have also worked at industry level so they have ample of experience and many of them have 20+ teaching experience. Recently one of our professor was name among the 2% scientists of the world. Curriculum is very student friendly with 75% attendance compulsion. Labs are well equipped to give small industry level view. Students can do research under the professors as well. There are 2 sessionals exam.

The placements have been pretty good over the years. 80-90% students get placed in chemical engineering branch every year. The data might be different for past year due to covid less companies visited the department but this year the companies have started to come again. Major companies visiting in the department are Exxonmobil, honeywell, RIL, Cairn, Jubilant, Technip. Highest package of 10-11 lakh p.a. is offered to 5-6 students every year by ExxonMobil and lowest of 3 lakhs by Infosys.

The fees for BE program is 18000 pr yr with a hike of 10% in every batch. The hostel fee is also very less 6000 per sem. Keeping in view the placement records and campus life, the value for money is great.

The college is among the best chemical engineering college in India with good NIRF ranking. The placements are also good in chemical branch. Number of fests namely cyanide, aanwik are conducted in the department. There other fests also like goonj, etc which are conducted by different departments of the university. There are many clubs in the department like enactus, IIChe, IPI, decode etc which one can join for extracurricular activities.

More than satisfactory and great value for money

The college is having all the necessary equipments and the infrastructure is also quite good there are more than 10 labs for different purposes. The campus is wifi enabled all these things are very well maintained just the sad part is out of 2 pilot plants in whole India one is situated at our college but it is not in working condition but authorities are looking into this matter and soon it will open up for all students

The academic curriculum is very great and at par with IITs and NITs it is designed in a manner so that students get the most benefit of it. The teaching quality is really very good because of our reputed professors who have teaching experience of more than 35 years. Every year the curriculum is updated and yes it makes us job ready.

The placements are really very good in the academic year 2018-2019 about 95% students of B.E. Chemical got palced in top companies like ExxonMobil, reliance, ITC, Honeywell, etc with a maximum package of about 12lpa and average around 6.8lpa

The overall course fee for B.E. Chemical is about 80k i.e. for 4 years so 20k per year and yes in the field of engineering this is absolutely the best value for money with such great facilities and good placements.

The department of Chemical Engineering (now known as Dr. SSBUICET) is the oldest department of Panjab University. It was built in the 60s, hence it's infrastructure is not in the best condition. Although it has all the desired equipments and all the laboratories, it's building needs improvements. The infrastructure is the only silver lining in the otherwise impeccable facilities and opportunities the department offers.

The curriculum of all the courses is updated yearly. All the professorsrs are highly qualified and have completed their doctrates. The teaching methods used by the professors makes the concepts easier to grasp.

The department has an impeccable placement record, better than most of the IITs and second only to ICT, Mumbai. Companies like Bechtel, Exxon Mobil, UOP Honeywell, HMEL, Cairn, Reliance etc. are some of the vast number of companies that offer great opportunities to the students. Every year various students get placed in PSUs like IOCL, ONGC after cracking the prestigious GATE examination.

The university is funded by the state and central government, hence it has a very low yearly fee. The yearly fee for the course of Chemical Engineering is around ₹23k.

The college being in Chandigarh offers one of the best campus life a student can dream of.
