I find this college the best in gtu as far as strict attendance and teaching attitude is considered. Placements are good but the maximum salary reached up to 5 lakhs for mechanical ( except alpha 9). We have a big auditorium where various technical events are held yearly. IMAZE techfest of my college bring the flood of opportunities to showcase your skills among the best students. It is generally held from February to April.

College is great indeed in terms of teaching. Some of them are very good facilities teaching syllabus in a practical industrial approach. The practical facilities are average. Drinking water availability at all floors. The college campus is kept clean. The results of students of my college are good in average.

The college has some brilliant faculties who have the practical and awesome approaches towards the topics. But the as the two sides of coin there are some areas where college need improvement .i.e canteen , hostel, etc . And In the practical sessions in lab there is feel like something is missing. The setups are not as expected. Also the industrial visiting is less.

One of the best

Holistic approach to Engineering education. Emphasis on understanding rather than mugging. Best facility for practicals. Faculties are highly educated and well connected with industry. Though with GTU the evaluation process has changed, but the intent of the college has always been on concepts rather than testing memory of a student. I feel lucky to be part of this college. There is little or no encouragement for sports. I hope college work in this area and encourage students to pursue sports and other hobbies.

The best college under GTU.Period. The highly controversial and confusing GTU which is not considered very good but this college is the one that would stand out. The management will make you study and if not that 75% attandance surely will. Better faculty and system comparatively. Equipped labs with good infrastructure overall. Though it seems highly conspicuous but the college fetches considerably good placement. If you want to go for better education and skills it the place you are looking for.

About College:

The GH Patel College of Engineering and Technology (GCET) is located in the educational hub of Vallabh Vidyanagar, part of the Anand district in Gujarat. Anand of course, has been synonymous with the AMUL cooperative. This college was founded more than two decades back, in the year 1996. The campus covers a total area worth ten acres of land. The GCET was originally affiliated to the Sardar Patel University (SPU), also located in the town of Vallabh Vidyanagar. Now the GCET is affiliated to the Gujarat Technical University (GTU). This affiliation, allows for approval from the UGC (University Grants Commission). The technical courses in the institute are recognized by the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education).

This college has been named after Shri Gordhanbhai Hathibhai Patel. He was an eminent philanthropist, who made substantial contribution towards the setting up of this college. The Charutar Vidya Mandal (CVM) runs the GCET. The group runs a great number of educational institutions all over the state of Gujarat. The domains covered by the CVM includes- pharmacy, law, arts, Ayurveda, education, engineering & technology, commerce, fine arts, architecture, home science, management, science, physical education, and even music & dance. In addition, the CVM runs a polytechnic and a research centre, plus several schools even. Two major research centres are also run by the Charutar Vidya Mandal.

Courses are offered here at the GH Patel College of Engineering and Technology at both the UG as well as PG levels. At the undergrad level, B. Tech programmes are available for the engineering areas of- Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, Information Technology, Computer, Mechatronics, Electrical and for Electronics & Communication. At the master’s level, the courses get more technical. So, the M. Tech programmes are available for the areas of- Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, Communication Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, Power Systems, Mechatronics Engineering and for Packaging Technology. The entire academics at the GCET is run by a cohort of nine departments, each with expertise in its own area.

Eight of these departments are for the areas in which the B. Tech degrees may be pursued in here. The ninth one is the Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities. This deals with the English language courses and the fundamental sciences of physics, chemistry and mathematics. Another area of much importance to the institute is entrepreneurship. This is why the Student Start- up and Innovation Policy (SSIP) of the Gujarat government has been introduced here, by the college. The SSIP It helps develop the budding entrepreneurs among the students for the institute. Experienced trainers and entrepreneurs are invited to campus to deliver guest lectures and interact with those who have such business models.

Research too plays a very important role, here at the GH Patel College of Engineering and Technology in Gujarat. For this purpose, the college publishes its own annual magazine. This chronicles the important events held on campus. The GCET has also taken up several third- party consulting projects which are generated by government of industrial bodies. Some of these clients include the likes of- IOCL (Indian Oil Corporation Limited), ONGC (Oil and Natural Gas Corporation), RIL (Reliance Industries Limited), GIL (Gujarat Informatics Limited), GNFC (Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited), Asahi, Supernova Technologies, Sterling Biotech, Tejas Associates and several more.

Several research projects have also been undertaken by the GCET. The college has even filed a number of patents. The GH Patel College of Engineering and Technology has also taken up memberships of several professional bodies. This is to help students develop holistically, which happens with participation in these bodies. These bodies are the ISTE (Indian Society for Technical Education), IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), CSI (Computer Society of India), IIChE (Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers), ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers), NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning), ISA (International Society of Automation), IEDC (Incubation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell), GLC (GCET Language Club), SPE (Society of Power Engineers), IGBC (Indian Green Building Council) and Prarambh.

The library here is one of the best stocked within the region. Besides the physical books on display, it also provides digital access to en number of international academic journals for research and academic purposes. For this purpose, the library and in fact, the entire campus is Wi- Fi enabled. The placements here are run by the Training and Placement Cell (TPC). The placement records have been improving with time. Some of the key recruiters from the GCET over the recent seasons have been the likes of- Infosys, Tech Mahindra, L&T Infotech, JSW, Capgemini, Tata Motors, Torrent Power, Evosys, Quanta, Universal Hunt, Volansys, SPEC India, Gedeon Richter and several more. The rankings have likewise risen up.
