i want to take admission in gmch in bsc course. how many marks required for gcet exam for taking addmission in paramedical course of General pool?
Hello Dear Student,
General category candidates must score at least 45% marks in GCET to be considered qualified, while SC candidates need at least 40% . Merely qualifying does not guarantee admission; seats are allotted based on merit/rank.
- The GCET exam consists of 100 MCQs carrying 100 marks , with no negative marking.
- For B.Sc. Paramedical courses, candidates generally need 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English , with at least 45% aggregate marks for General category candidates.
- Admissions are based on GCET rank/merit , and the actual admission cutoff is usually much higher than the minimum qualifying marks because of competition for seats.
- The General Pool includes candidates from outside Chandigarh and accounts for 15% of seats , while the remaining major share is reserved for the Chandigarh/UT pool.
So the overall guidance is accurate: 45% in GCET is only the qualifying threshold for General category candidates; securing a seat in popular paramedical disciplines usually requires a much stronger rank than the minimum qualification leve
