Eligibility Criteria

Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. OR Passed Diploma (in Engineering and Technology) examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.

Admission Details

Admission to Government Engineering Colleges in Bihar is carried out through two main pathways.

Candidates can secure admission based on their performance in the JEE Main examination, followed by the state counselling process.
Admission is also conducted through the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE), which is organized by the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB).
The BCECE process involves multiple stages, including a screening test, followed by the mains examination, and finally counselling.
The selection of candidates is based on the merit list prepared from the mains examination.
For lateral entry (direct admission to the second year), candidates must have passed a Diploma in Engineering or B.Sc. and should qualify as per the merit list of BCECE (LE).
