Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Mechanical Engineering is a four-year full-time undergraduate program recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and offered by the Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University, Bhilai.

Eligibility Criteria

For admission to regular degree courses in engineering :

Passing the 12th through the (10+2) education system of the Board of Secondary Education, Chhattisgarh, or any recognized board/University with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one of the subjects as Chemistry subject is essential.
Passing cumulatively in all three main subjects, i.e., Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry, with a minimum of 45% marks for the UR category and 40% marks for the SC, ST, OBC category, and PWD candidates of Chhattisgarh is essential.
Lateral Entry in B.Tech.
Candidates having a 3-year Diploma in the concerned discipline with 50% marks from All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi-recognized institutions are eligible for admission in the respective branches directly to the 2nd year (3rd semester) of B.Tech. programme.

Admission Details

For taking Admission to Engineering Institute in Chhattisgarh Pre Engineering Test (PET) entrance exam is compulsory. the State level common entrance test conducted by the Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board, Raipur, to determine the merit list for admission to B.Tech. courses. Also, JEE entrance marks will be accepted.

College Infrastructure

The infrastructure at Government Engineering College (GEC), Raipur is quite decent and provides most of the basic facilities required for engineering students. The campus has well-equipped classrooms, laboratories, a library, computer labs, and separate facilities for different departments. The classrooms are spacious and generally suitable for regular lectures and practical sessions. The college also has sports facilities and canteen areas for students. However, some buildings and facilities could use better maintenance and modernization. Internet connectivity and cleanliness can also be improved in certain areas. Overall, the infrastructure is satisfactory for a government engineering college and offers a comfortable environment for academic activities.

College Infrastructure

Our library is very vast with air conditioning, and it also has Wi-Fi facilities. Our classrooms have air conditioning and Wi-Fi. There are almost every type of lab present. The workshop is also very good and big for students, with CNC machines and other machines like lathes, drilling , etc.
