Gurudas College, Kolkata Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The College has a Library System consisting of one Central Library and twenty Seminar Libraries (i.e. Departmental Libraries for Hons. and PG Departments). The Central Library is situated on the first floor of the Golden Jubilee Building of the college, occupying a 4,000 sq. ft. area. It is arranged and decorated in keeping with the needs of the college and is fully air-conditioned. Both open and closed access systems have been maintained simultaneously within it.

The College has Internet facilities, Students may use the computers in the library for Internet access. Library users may also access the library and/or its database through mobile/PC using Wi-Fi freely within the library premises. 

The College has Laboratories. All Science subjects have fully equipped upgraded laboratories. This ensures that students may have appropriate access to experimentation, observation, and practice that highly augments teaching in general.

The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.

The college has a canteen facility Located near the Commerce Building, it appeals to all, not only for its inviting spacious atmosphere but also for food and snacks which are available at a moderate rate. All members of the college, that is to say, students as well as teaching and non-teaching staff, may access the facilities available here. 

The College has the Health Unit of the college is located on the ground floor of the Main Building. It offers free medical services to members of the college community. The institution has also appointed two doctors who are available for consultation every Monday and Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A reputed psychologist too visits on the 3rd Friday of every month, from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. First aid facilities are available for emergency situations.

The College has a well-equipped multi-gym. The gymnasium helps relieve academic pressures on the students by providing various physical workout facilities. The college has appointed a certified trainer to help students in their fitness programs.

The College has a Sports Cell that makes arrangements for football and cricket matches and training in association with the East Calcutta District Sports Council. One of our students Bidesh Mondal, 2nd year (General) was selected for the University Football team, while yet another student, Dipak Dutta 2nd year, B.Sc (Physical Science) won the University championship in athletics. The annual sport is a major in-house event with staff and student participants.

The college has good networking for the alumni association.

The College has provided facilities for appropriate parking of bicycles or motorbikes for students during college hours. However, it must be noted by all concerned, that the bicycles and motorbikes may be kept at the risk and responsibility of their owners. No compensation will be made by the college authority in case of damage or theft.

The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.

The college has encouraged extracurricular activities like NSS, NCC, Arts and crafts, Etc.

The college has Motive of the placement cell is to act as a facilitator to arrange campus visits and coordinate the recruitment process of the prospective employers of graduating students of the college.
