This is very genuine doubt. Many times what happens, students who are at the top ranks move to some other state for colleges, some drop for another year, some go to abroad. Considering such situations closing rank is kept high. Although admission is never with the closing rank.

You have to secured under 400 rank to get MIT muz.

For CSE you have to secure under 200 rank so you will have chances to get  this college in BCECE
