Hello.
Yes you can take, according to the eligibility criteria of MIT University you can take transfer entry from IIT, only when if you have completed your two semesters  of study, there is no entry for those who have done less than 2 semesters and more than five semesters, that means if you are first year student so after completion of your two semesters you can get admission in MIT from IIT the basic requirement for this are mentioned below:
  • Maintain your GPA in your current year, still there is not any particular cutoff for it.
  • There will be need of your official transcripts which means with your high school /intermediate transcripts.
  • you will have to give SAT exam one in writing component and second  in Science subject which includes mathematics and any of the other science subject, maintain your score in it to have good fee waiver, there is relaxation from SAT exam for those candidates who are belonging to the countries where SAT exam is not offered like Iran and China but you are from India so you will have to appear for it.
  • there is need of letter of recommendation that means from your college instructor you need to have three evaluation forms.
  • There will be need of an essay which will show your writing skills as well as the reason that why you want to join MIT with a transfer from IIT.
  • Then you will have to submit non refundable application fee which is about $75.
  • There will be a personal interview.
  • And finally you will get admission.
Best of luck.

hi,

see iits students may go for career development courses if the opportunity is given and if the institute has tie up with any of the foreign university, however in most iits candidates need to complete their graduation from the respective iits only, after completing btech , you may apply for ms courses in abroad university.

Farhan, your higher secondary board scores i.e your GPA range and your rank will also greatly contribute to your admission process in along with a good SAT score.

You should check the official website links of the two colleges for more information

Dear Poojha S

CEG ,MIT are the soul colleges of Tamil Nadu Engineering Colleges. This is possible  only when we neglect IIT Madras and NIT- Trinchy. CEG and MIT share similar placement ratios. As their campuses fall under Anna University. In this 2-4 Campuses are included.

CEG:

College of Engineering Guindy Tamil Nadu is well known college. This college is much popular and good than MIT. This is the oldest Engineering College hence its brand value is much larger than other Engineering Colleges. Thus CEG ranks the best in all fields of Engineering. CEG campus placements are also wide enough than MIT.

MIT vs Guindy

Both the colleges are very excellent in all sorts. But whenever we look to any institute we look for its placement and for our future point of view.

So I have mentioned their difference on the basis of Placements.

MIT Chennai has the most record of 100% placements in all filed including Mechanical Engineering. Top companies come and hire students here. Here Mechanical placements are higher as compared to any other institute. They receive package of about 4LPA which is higher than any other institutes.

But the placements of students occur in Guindy campus of both CEG and MIT.

CEG Guindy has 95% and above placement rank but the average package is about 4.2 LPA. But its Mechanical placements are only about 60%. The highest package offered was about 36LPA, and the lowest package offered is 3 LPA. Average salary offered is about 5LPA.

Thus according to me ypu can choose any College. But according to me you can choose Guindy. Because their college has received 36 LPA for mechanical department which is high.

Thank You

All The Best.

Hello Aspirant!
As you have cleared your compartment exam, there will be no issues while applying for Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA.

Yes, your GPA will be considerably lower (around 0.0-0.9 GPA on 4.0 scale as per Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), subjective to variations) than the usual range of GPA of the MIT aspirants (3.9-4.0) which will certainly lower your chances. But it won't affect your eligibility to apply as MIT doesn't just look for a perfect GPA. And there is evidently no minimum GPA for MIT. A student with 3.5 GPA might be accepted while another with even 4.0 GPA might be rejected. It has many parameters for selection. Its admission process is 'holistic'.
Besides having some exceptional records in extra curricular activities and other distinctions if any (like winning International Olympiad medals/ achieving something incredible etc.) along with some strong letters of recommendations, a good SAT Subject Test score (above 770) / ACT score (above 34) in Maths and Science subjects can also help.
The admit rate of international students is quite low for India (9.31% in 2019-20). So, you need to be really extraordinary. They will see what you have got to offer to their community.

Feel free to ask in the comment section if you have any more doubts in this regard.
Hope this answer will help you.
