36 MonthsBachelor of Engineering (BE) in Mechanical Engineering Lateral Entry is a Three-year full-time undergraduate program recognized and offered by the Osmania Univerisity, Hyderabad.
Lateral entry: There is a provision to admit 10% of intake in each branch directly into BE II year. Candidates with a diploma qualification are admitted through Convenor ECET after qualifying in ECET entrance examination.
Eligibility Criteria
a. Passed Diploma examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in ANY branch of Engineering and Technology.
b. Passed B.Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) and passed 10+2 examination with Mathematics as a subject.
c. Provided that the students belonging to B.Sc. Stream shall clear the subject's Engineering Graphics/ Engineering Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of the First-Year Engineering Programme along with the second year subjects.
d. Provided that the students belonging to B.Sc. Stream shall be considered only after filling the supernumerary seats in this category with students belonging to the Diploma stream.
e. Passed D.Voc. Stream in the same or allied sector. f. In the above cases, suitable bridge Courses, if required such as in Mathematics may be conducted.
Admission Details
ADMISSION IN BE–2nd YEAR LATERAL ENTRY THROUGH ECET
1. The admission for 20% seats on 1 st year intake of a previous academic year will be done by the Convener of TSECET into a BE-2nd-year level.
2. Candidates qualified in TSECET are eligible for admission into BE-2nd-year Lateral Entry as per the norms fixed by the TSCHE.
3. If the vacancies are still left after completing the admissions by the Convener, seats will be filled with Diploma/Degree or its equivalent examination by the principal by conducting SPOT admissions as per guidelines of the Convener.
4. Admissions made by the principal of the college during SPOT admission (on merit only) will be forwarded to the Convener for ratification/approval.
