St. Xavier's College, Ranchi is well known for many things and for it's infrastructure too. The college have big classrooms. The laboratories of Computers are awesome, they provide updated system architecture. There are two libraries for each dept., one is only for dept. and another one is common for everyone. There's no wifi for students.

I am pursuing my Graduation degree of BCA in this college. I will go very clearly that the course is good but not the course which is being taught is sufficient for the students as it is not updated and we are learning the same as our seniors have learnt 5-6 years before us. The course must get updated and must include languages like Python. But i will say, the placement records of this year is too good.

The placement was very good this year. Almost every students who prepared and wanted to be get placement were placed. The highest salary was 3.84LPA. The average salary of this year placement was about 2LPA. The HOD is too good for students and helpful as well.

Campus life is very much awesome. We love being in college. Having 2 basketball courts, a badminton court, a football ground makes it more attractive in the field of sports. We have 4-5 canteens and we also have a gaming zone where we can play indoor games like TT, Carrom, chess, etc.

The worst part is lack of gym, a decent canteen in the faculty or playing spaces. The air-conditioned classes are great equipped with cameras, mics, speakers and projectors. There is a decent auditorium, a moot court hall, seperate common rooms for boys and girls, two libraries, wifi throughout the campus and hostel, good computer laboratory and the hostels have playing spaces. The hostel cleanliness and mess food are terrible and the university doesn't use smart platforms.

I being a student of BALLB hons. am satisfied with the quality of teaching. The faculty is filled with great lawyers and preachers of the art and there are frequent lectures from High court judges and even the chief justice of high court. The curiculum is the best if you want to go for judiciary and there is moot court competition and.Also PCS(j) results here are unparalleled with almost 10% of the selections being from here. There is a placement cell but it is inactive. You'll have to make your own efforts to build your resume up for placement in a top law firm because the faculty doesn't care about corporate at all. You'll have to find your own internships but on the flip side you'll become well connected while studying here and that'll help quiet a bit. There are examples of alumnii that are working in top law firms and as law officers in PSUs and big companies but you'll have to make your own way there.

Most of the University campus is beautiful and classic. It doesn't look modern but rather like beautiful forts and has lots of greenery and open space. There are hostel fests, college fests and multiple parties. Sports facilities are great with every form of playgrounds. The university is spread around in 4 faculty spaces right in the middle of the city. The hostels are also spread around the city instead of being all in one place so it's like an open city campus and that's amazing.
