Sivanath Sastri College, Kolkata, is a noted institution with a glorious history of over 140 years in imparting quality education. The college has a wide variety of undergraduate programmes and mostly chooses students based on the merit of their 10+2 results. NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) has accredited Sivanath Sastri College based on a lofty standard of excellence.
The Sivanath Sastri College admission procedure is so structured that only meritorious students with a sincere interest in its undergraduate programmes are rated for such admission. Most of the admission processes are conducted just before the commencement of the academic year, either in the month of July or August.
Very much for the majority of other courses, merit is usually given to marks scored in the 10+2 or similar examinations that are accepted. The Sivanath Sastri College does not conduct any separate entrance test for undergraduate admissions. Instead, it considers academic performance in the qualifying examination for both eligibility and merit.
The application process of Sivanath Sastri College is simple and mostly follows these steps:
The college provides 10 courses.
B.Com Accounting and Finance (Hons) has the highest intake with 527 seats. Merit is considered based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination. The total fees for this course are Rs 32,460.
The college offers B.Sc. General, available for 40 seats, and B.Sc. Honours in Geography and Economics, each having an intake of 30 seats. Sivanath Sastri College admission is also strictly on the basis of merit for these programmes.
The selection process is transparent and solely on the merit of the academic performance of candidates in their qualifying examinations.
The quality of teaching is very good and the entire college staff is very understanding and supportive. The curriculum is well updated. Whenever a student face any kind of problem teachers are always there to help them out. Super friendly teachers.
As I'm a student of this college studying BA ENG HONS can say that academics are average in this college. Teachers are good but not always available to clear the doubts. Curriculum is not updated regularly.
Curriculum is updated and up to the mark. Faculty is good, however, you might get only two out of five classes a day. It might not make you job-ready, but ready enough to take up a post graduation at a good university.
