Another center of higher studies in Tamil Nadu, Sona College of Arts and Science, Salem. The college offers several undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the various fields of information technology, computer science, biotechnology, graphic design, business administration, commercial and fine arts, etc.  The college makes every attempt to facilitate the admission of students to study with them. For Sona College of Arts and Science, the selection of students is based primarily on a combination of factors that include academic performance in qualifying examinations. Subject to some exceptions, depending upon select programs, interviews or entrance tests may be held as necessary to assess the aptitude and skill profile of applicants.

Application Process

Application process for the Sona College of Arts and Science, Salem:

1. Go to the official college website and click on the admission link.

2. Download the application form and fill it in correctly with personal and academic data.

3. Collate documents that are relevant to this application; generally, these include:

• 10th and 12th Mark sheets
• Transfer certificate
• Community certificate (if applicable)
• Passport-size photographs
• Any other merit or extra-curricular certificates

4. Hand in the application form together with the relevant documents to the admissions office of the college. This can either be done by hand or by post.

Degree-wise Admission Process

B. Com and B.Com Computer Applications: Each being widely sought undergraduate program with 180 seats each, admission is based on the candidates' performance in the 10+2 with subject(s) in commerce and mathematics.

B.Sc Computer Science, B.Sc Visual Communication, and BCA: 80 seats are offered for each of the programs. Preferably candidates pursuing the 10+2 program with a science background are especially relevant with subjects of mathematics and computer science.

B.Sc Biotechnology: 80 seats available for students strong in biology and chemistry at 10+2 level.

BBA and BA English: 60 students each are taken per program. For BBA students with commerce or mathematics in 10+2 among are preferred while for BA English a basic strength in language and literature helps.

B.Sc Mathematics and B.Com Accounting and Finance: These programs are made available for 60 students each. A good score in mathematics in the 10+2 level is crucial for B.Sc Mathematics and strong commerce background will support B.Com Accounting and Finance.

M.Com and MA English: These postgraduate programs are offered for 36 students each. Admission can be gotten with good academic record in relevant bachelor degree programs.
