South Travancore Hindu College, Nagercoil Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The college has a boys’ hostel facility, which provides good hostel accommodation for the students. The boys' hostel accommodation and mess facilities will be provided only when there are fifty members in the hostel.

The college has a girls' hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students.

The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.

The college has a Gym facility for the students.

The college library of the college occupies a two-story building adjacent to the college grounds. It is a user-focused center of learning resources that meets all academic and research needs. The library is automated using the Integrated Library Management System ‘ROVAN’. The College library has a seating capacity of 200 and a mezzanine floor for stacking 

The college has well-maintained college grounds, spreading more than 15,000 square feet, and can accommodate all types of games. Adequate sports facilities and equipment are available in the college, with a separate indoor stadium with a basketball court and two badminton courts. Considering the facilities available at the college, the Kanyakumari District Cricket Association has signed an MoU with our institution and has approved the college as a recognized center for Cricket training and supports the activities. College teams have been bagging trophies in various competitions. 

The College has ample infrastructural facilities such as classrooms, laboratories, seminar halls, library, computers, and other academic resources to support the Teaching Learning Process. The College has 94 classrooms, of which most are ICT-enabled. The rooms are well-ventilated and in accordance with the requirements of the programme for which it is intended. Sufficient furniture is available in these classrooms, which serve as the place for lectures and tutorials. Presentations and lectures supported by presentations can be done in these classrooms. Besides, there are 4 ICT-enabled seminar halls. The college has adequate laboratory facilities to serve the needs of its Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes. Researchers have separate lab facilities and research rooms. A small-scale Eco Pond and a Botanical Garden with a greenhouse are maintained by the Life Science Departments as a part of their academics. Facilities like photocopying, binding, lamination, etc. are available inside the College campus. To ensure the safety of students and staff, CCTV is installed throughout the campus, which is constantly monitored. Separate rooms are provided for NSS, NCC, etc., for their activities.

The college auditorium is spread over 906 square metres with a mezzanine floor of 485.3 square metres and can accommodate around 800 people at a time with a well-equipped stage. All major performances and the Annual College Day are organised in the college auditorium, which has a good sound system with modern facilities. In addition to the college's indoor auditorium, our college boasts a broad open- air auditorium to accommodate a large-scale audience.

The college has good networking for the alumni association.

The college has a spacious canteen on campus. It provides different dining spaces for students and staff. Sanitation and purity of water are given primary emphasis, and the agency in charge of the canteen provides various sorts of food and beverages for all types of customers.

The College, in collaboration with Dhanlaxmi Bank, has opened a branch within the Campus. A bank on the college campus serves as a valuable and convenient resource for both staff and students. With its presence on campus, it not only provides essential banking services but also offers a variety of financial solutions tailored to meet the unique needs of the college community.

The college has a Save green club is, a student wing of OISCA International (Organisation for Industrial, Spiritual and Cultural Advancement) based a Tokyo, Japan-based organisation. The aim of OISCA is world environmental protection and conservation. The Save Green Club promotes education & Training in building up character, promotes agriculture, forestry, and industrial developments in harmony with nature.

The college also provides good classroom facilities for all the students.
