St Anthonys College, Shillong Reviews on Infrastructure, Campus, Placement, Facilities & Faculty

The college has decent infrastructure and provides required facilities for students. Classrooms are spacious however the availability of smartboards/projectors can vary between clasrooms. The library has a good collection of books, novels, reference texts etc and a nice, quiet environment. Wifi is provided. The campus has adequate grounds for sports and other extracurricular activities. Overall the infrastructure is adequate, but there is room for improvement in terms of technology and maintenance.

As a student of History, the course structure is what intrigued me the most. The syllabus is quite well structured and covers a plethora of topics, although it can become quite exhausting at times, making it difficult to keep up with the workload during semester exams. The professors are knowledgeable, very experienced and clarify concepts very well.

There is not much emphasis on campus placements at least for courses like History. Students generally have to explore opportunities on their own. While academics are provided well, i feel that better campus placements could be provided for students' transition into the job sector.

The course fees are quite affordable, my course of History was around ₹17k per semester which makes the overall education costs affordable. Considering the quality of teaching, faculty and environment, i think the college provides good education at a reasonable cost.

Campus life at SAC is quite active and engaging with plenty of opportunities for students to participate beyond academics only. Theres several clubs and student associations covering different interests. This helps in bringing students of varying departments together. The college regularly organises food fests, club fests, cultural programmes, seminars, competitions.

my college has most of all the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipment as a biochemistry department students. in the laboratories , libraries sports and centres we don’t get good wifi connection

academics is overall fine as far as my experience and it is good to study in this college the weather is also nice here for a fresh start and great energy which is required for studies . i feel very happy to a student of this college

placements are not that good because we don’t get direct placements from our college as a biochemistry student i feel like bachelors is not enough to secure a placement minimum masters is required for better opportunities.

per year it costs around 50k which is reasonable and i feel i’m getting my money’s worth it is very less compare to other courses in other colleges they are providing so much in a reasonable money and i think everyone can afford to study here

campus life is awesome it is filled with greenery and very peaceful environment but the problem is that the campus is so small in compare to the number of students i think campus could be a bit bigger

no

Infrastructure is good but changes and modifications would be appreciated. Wifi is really bad. Campus is hygienic and clean. Playground could be bigger. Older scientific instruments could be replaced by new ones.

Biotechnology department is DBT funded, hence it is affordable. It is one of the best institutes that teaches biotechnology. Curriculum is updated and provides us with necessary information. Everything is updated but not AI ready yet. Extra papers and VTC programs makes us job ready.

The placement criteria is average not that high the companies that came here are very rarely and the highest package is approximately 8 lpa which is not that high even though the college has its own dedicated placement cell

My course costs approximately 1.5 lakhs and in my opinion it’s worth it however it would be better if along with teaching from the books and presentations they would also provide us with all the necessary resources and skills

Campus life of this college is fun engaging and lively the college hosts various events programs and fun activities very frequently where studcan showcase their talents and skills so campus life is really good here we also have many clubs for different fields

Overall my experience here so far has been good this college is affordable safe with a fun campus life

Infrastructure is normal and well maintained they provide us with all the basic facilities and necessities like canteens library staff rooms etc but hygiene could be better also the Wi-Fi connection here is not that good

Mu course is BA English I’m studying this because i am interested in literature also the quality of teaching is average it could be better if they put more efforts The curriculum in my opinion is not updated as the development keeps taking place continuously so it’ll be better if the college put more effort into it

The collect has it’s own placement cell dedicated towards guiding students and preparing them for their career and placements but the placement packages are not that high the top recruiters are companies like TCS Wipro google but it’s very rare that these companies will come here

The cost of my course is approximately 4 lakhs and i think it’s too expensive for a course like mine that i want to have a scholarship for it it’ll be worth it if the college will provide us with the necessary resources and skills

Campus life of this college is good various types of events competitions programs take place the college also have many clubs where students can take part in based on their interests but it’ll only be fun if u have friends there

My experience is good overall the teachers students and other staff members are good and supportive and the environment is safe

the infrastructure of this college is good and well maintained this college provides their students and teachers all the basic necessities and facilities like library reception counters canteens basketball court waiting rooms staff rooms etc. also the washrooms canteens as well as the food are all hygienic and clean the variety of food provided by the canteens are various and the food is tasty the only thing is that the Wi-Fi connection at some places is good but at some places it's not that good

i am a b.com student and my minor is bba i am interested in business and marketing field hence i am studying this course according to me the curriculum is updated but it`s based on nehu guidelines so whatever the university wants to include or deduct the college has to follow that i wouldn`t say that it includes all the developments because business environment is very dynamic and it`s very hard to pace with that our curriculum could be better if they teach us necessary skills along with our courses like ai skills, ms excel, power bi etc

this college has its own placement cell to help and guide students in their career and placements the top recruiters are from IT and customer services sectors like TCS wipro vedanta google etc. the highest package offered here is upto 8 lpa something but the college is supportive towards students

my course costs around 1 lakh approx. per year and i feel like it`s worth it because teachers taught the students with determination and very eloquently, they teach us from books presentation slides as well as provide us relevant examples and also provide us necessary notes and they are very helpful too classes doesn`t get delayed or cancelled frequently so our studies don't get disturbed

the campus life of this college is very fun, engaging and entertaining various types of programs functions and competitions get held here by the college and many types of clubs are also present where students can apply based on their interests our college is very safe the students teachers and other staff members are all very supportive

my experience in this college so far has been so good and fun i have met so many new people from different states and cultures and i also apply for many clubs here which is a fun and an amazing experience for me

Our college infrastructure is good it has all types of facilities like library, labs, football/basketball courts, canteens, stationary shop, auditorium and hostel. The only problem is that Wi-Fi connection is not that good, sometimes it's fine sometimes it's not but the rest of the things are good.

My major is B.Com and minor is BBA the professors are good as they give relevant real life examples while teaching Our curriculum is updated but it could be better i wouldn't say that what I'm studying is preparing me for the future as there are so many types of skills in the market now that are not taught in the colleges so the curriculum would be much better if they teach us more skills that are currently prevalent in the market rather than typical theory that is not relevant anymore

We have a dedicated Placement Cell that manages campus recruitment drives, soft skills training and career counseling in our college. The placement rate is approximately 65% the median package (UG) ranges from ₹2.40 LPA to ₹2.41 LPA and the median package (PG) ranges from ₹2.40 LPA to ₹2.41 LPA the highest package is up to ₹8.60 LPA and the average package ranges from ₹2.50 LPA – ₹3.00 LPA The Top Recruiters are from • IT & Tech sector such as TCS, Infosys, Wipro, IBM, HCL, Tech Mahindra, Accenture • Corporate & Services sector such as Google, Reliance, Genpact, HSBC, Vedanta

My course's cost is approx 25,000 rupees per semester and i think it's worth it but it would be better if they teach us skills like AI, MS Excel, Power BI etc along with our course.

Our campus life is very fun, entertaining and engaging. The college conducts so many types of activities and functions frequently which makes our college life memorable

1.The college has the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipment to conduct activities. 2. The WiFi is good but has range issues in certain areas, the laboratories are clean and well maintained. Libraries are quiet as intended and the peace is well maintained there. 3. They are well maintained, everyday is a fresh new experience everytime i enter there.

1. I am studying English as my honours, i find it to be an interesting subject as there are various topics that can be learned with just literature alone. I believe it is also a way to share opinions, knowledge, etc to more people. The teaching quality is excellent and every teacher gives their all during their lectures which makes it an amazing experience. 2. The curriculum is fresh so it is in no form outdated at all. Thus the teaching allows us to gather knowledge to make us ready for jobs

The overall placement quality is good, with around 60–70% of eligible students getting placed each year. The highest package offered was about ₹8.6 LPA, reportedly to an MCA student, while the average package is around ₹3 LPA. Top recruiters include TCS, Wipro, Infosys, IBM, and HCL. The placement process is generally smooth and well-organized, and the college placement cell is supportive, offering guidance and training to students throughout the process

1. While this is on the cheaper side of expenses with its fee structure, it does not feel like it due to the payments being done in instalments and other activities that require money to spend. All in all it totals to an affordable 40k per year so it is accessible to more students who wish to study there 2. Yes, as my previous review in academics suggests

1. The college campus is particularly smaller so its easier to get around places, however this also makes it more packed during lunch hours and the environment gets bland much more quickly as such. Students can still engage in sports activities and fundraiser events in the courtyard. 2. The students are respectful and well mannered, the teachers are approachable and are comfortable to discuss topics with them and the support staff all earnestly do their jobs thus allowing the college to function well. The location is quickly navigable and is near a hospital so it can handle emergencies well.

Yes my college have the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipment. The classrooms are clean a well maintained with smart teaching boards, the laboratories are well hygiene and good amount of books are available in the library, college have a basketball ground and hostels for both boys and girls, college also has wifi support.Yes the college is clean and hygienic.

I am studying because of the good weather of the city and a reputed college, the quality of teachers and teaching is good in some departments while some of the departments are comparatively not so good. The curriculum is well updated with the NEP 2024.

According to the passed out students and seniors I came to know that there is a small amount of placements available in the college for some departments.Good students get placement in good companies with high salary and the college is also supportive in this field.

The course per year cost 25000 to 30000 per year.Yes I feel it's worth it.

Yes the campus life is good here,we get new friends from different states and the annual week of the college is the best and it is also in the heart of Shillong city so students from different places and districts also takes admission. We have basketball ground where we can play in the evening and different clubs to be connected everyday.

Overall the college is good for a good student with all the necessary facilities available, but some may face language problems.

The college infrastructure is innovative. We have all total of 4 buildings ( wollaston annexe building , Main Building , Media and IT annexe ,Golden Jublee annexe ) we have 4 Girls toilet and 4 boys toilet. The classrooms are big and have Digital connection.we got two college hostels the Mama margarette(girls) and the Stephens Hall ( boys ) We got three canteens with pocket friendly food.

The teachers here provide e-books through classroom, classes are held punctually and also they have also adopted the new NEP-2020 smoothly. We got department of Political Science,Economics,Bio-tech,Bio-chem,Statistics,Media-tech,Commerce,Business Administration and specially to mention the Fishery department.

Regarding the placement it's good not too excellent . Students got placement from vedanta ,Union Bank ,TATA ,South indian bank ,State Bank of India ,ICICI bank. From 2020-21 batch a highest package of 8.6lacs per annun was seen and the lowest salary package of 3 lacs per annum

Yes it is value for money We give starting admission amount ( for BA economics ) of Rs 19000 and mid sem with Rs 7000 . It goes same each year and also depends on department

As shillong is well known for it's pleasant whether , I came here also for this and also there is no hustle-bustle around

The infrastructure was good with decent classrooms, well-equipped auditoriums and science labs. The college library is well maintained and has a large collection of goods. The cafeteria and canteen is clean.

The faculty was good and helpful. Mathematics Department faculty provided us with all the materials and notes needed. Computer skills and certification courses should be added, so that students can add to their skills.

Placement culture is not popular for general courses like B.sc and BA. Companies do come for placements but it was mostly for sales. Students are mostly focused on pursuing higher education like Masters.
