The Department of Political Science is inaugurating its Post Graduate programme in July 2019. The two-year MA course has two types of papers. Core papers are compulsory for all students opting for the course and are designed to give students a thorough grounding in core areas of the discipline such as Political Theory, Political Thought, Public Administration, International Relations, etc. The course also offers an exciting set of elective/specialization papers such as Public Policy, World Politics and Global Political Economy, Politics of Development to name a few which students choose from the several options that are on offer. Staffed by competent faculty active in research and publications the dept looks forward to attracting students from different parts of the country and abroad.
Admission Process
Admission is based on Entrance Exam conducted by St. Xavier's College.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates who have cleared the B.A. Examination with Political Science Honours with a minimum of 55% marks in Honours (45% for reserved category).
- Candidates who have completed a 2nd year or 5th Semester in 2018 and are awaiting final year / 6th-semester Examination Results are also eligible to apply. Admission for such candidates will be provisional and be conditional to their passing the qualifying examination with the minimum required marks [55% for General and 45% for Reserved category].
- No candidate shall be eligible for admission after a lapse of more than five years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination. The year of admission will not be taken into account while calculating five years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination.
