Veterinary College and Research Institute, Tirunelveli (VCRI Tirunelveli) is one of the leading new establishments in animal sciences. Degree-wise Admission Process
B.V.Sc and AH: Five and a half years undergraduate program run by VCRI Tirunelveli. Admissions for this course are mainly based on score from the relevant entrance examinations as well as academic records. Intake capacity for 80 students per annum is there for this program. Generally, the eligibility involves completing 10+2 with science subjects most focusing on biology.
M.V.Sc: It is the master's program for 2 years. Admissions for M.V.Sc may include entrance tests or interviews. To be eligible for this program, candidates need to have a bachelor's degree in veterinary science.

To get admission in Veterinary College and Research Institute(VCRI), the institute insists that the students should have passed in 10,+2 in the stream of Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany and Zoology or any other vocational courses related to Agriculture and Poultry farming.
The minimum aggregate marks are being fixed by the Government of TamilNadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences(TNUVAS). TNUVAS has fixed the minimum aggregate marks in 12th as 60% in the above mentioned subjects.

The Government of Tamil Nadu has sanctioned the Third Veterinary College at Tirunelveli. It is public and government aided college located in Tirunelveli. It was established as a third constituent college of TANUVAS through the Tamil Nadu government G.O. Ms. No. 93, Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries Department Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University established the Veterinary College and Research Institute with full facilities for Veterinary Education, Research and Extension activities at Ramayanpatti in Tirunelveli, with a total area of 139.21 acres of land and with an initial budget of Rs. 12.59 crores to cater to the needs of the southern drought prone district farmers, who mainly depend on dairy, sheep and goat rearing for their daily livelihood and to augment the livestock production activities especially the small ruminant production in the southern districts.
