Vivekananda College, Madhyamgram Admission 2025: Dates, Application Form, Courses, Fees & Eligibility

Vivekananda College Madhyamgram and since then, it has been under the affiliation of the University of Calcutta. The college has implemented the merit-based admission procedure for the various undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Vivekananda College NAAC has accredited admission in 18 courses in 6 degrees in both Arts and Science. The admission cycles follow that of the University of Calcutta academic calendar.  Most of the degree programs will check the applicants' academic performances since this is the main criterion for admission into courses by the college. Equal opportunities were given to all eligible applicants through this merit-based selection. Students who have completed their 10+2 schooling from any recognized board can apply to undergraduate programs. The exact eligibility criterion will vary from course to course. Postgraduate students should have completed the bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline from any recognized institution.

Application Process

The steps generally followed in the admission process for Vivekananda College, Madhyamgram, are as follows:

1. Admission Announcements: The announcement for admission will be made by the college through its official website also in the local papers. 

2. Online Application: Candidates need to fill the online application form available on the college website and provide accurate information according to the 10+2 mark sheet or graduation mark sheet for PG courses.

3. Document Upload and Scanned copies: all needed documents along with mark sheets, certificates, and a recent passport-size photograph should be uploaded with the application.

4. Application Fee Payment: Students need to pay the requisite application fee through the online payment gateway available on the college website.

5. Merit List Publication: Merit lists on different courses are published on the official website of the college as well as in notice boards. More than one list may be published as per availability of seats.

2. BA Education Honors: 85 seats
3. BA English Honors: 80 seats
4. BA History Honors: 90 seats
5. BA Journalism and Mass Communication Honors: 30 seats
6. BA Philosophy Honors: 40 seats
7. BA Political Science Honors: 77 seats
8. BA Geography Honors: 35 seats

All these programs are based on the merit list generated based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination (10+2).

B.Sc Programs: Shivaji College B.Sc (General) has an intake of 100, and the following honors courses are available:

1. B.Sc Computer Science Honors: 30 seats
2. B.Sc Geography Honors: 50 seats
3. B.Sc Mathematics Honors: 30 seats
4. B.Sc Physics Honors: 25 seats

Admission to B.Sc courses is also merit-based, with overall consideration of the relevant subjects appearing in 10+2.

MA Programs: Vivekananda College offers postgraduate programs in a large number of disciplines: MA Bengali: 46 seats, MA Education: 50 seats, and MA History: Details for seat information currently not available.

M.Sc Program: M.Sc Geography: 50 seats

Postgraduate admissions are based on the marks obtained by the candidates in their respective bachelor's degree programs.
