No there is no such rule that you can change your branch even before first semester, but yes there is a criteria by which you can easily change your branch after first year and for that you have to score above 8 grade points and to be in top 10 percentile of your class. Then you can switch your branch.

It depends on which college you took admission. But as when you are enrolled in the stream you can't change at that moment. But you can change in your second year. let me explain you. In your first year, the syllabus and the curriculum for all the branches are the same. There is no difference. But after the 1st year, you enter to your stream subject slowly. So after 1st year, every college gives a chance to change the stream. but there is a criterion to change the stream. It depends on colleges. Generally, the minimum criteria is 8+ YGPA but it may vary from college to college. I suggest you to ask the criteria for changing the stream.

Seat allotment is done based on factors such as total number of candidates applied, rank of the candidate, category of the candidate, seat availability, preferences of institute and branch. You will be allotted seat in one of the institutes and branch that you have filled during choice filling for seat allotment. If you aren't satisfied with the seat allocation you can participate in second phase counselling and provide only the preferences of institute and branch in which you are interested.

LFAT 2021 result will be declared for all candidates who have appeared in the OMR-based exam and will have such information like the name, roll number and qualifying status of the candidate, and sectional and overall marks. Such candidates who qualify in the LFAT 2021 entrance exam will be invited for counselling and seat allotment. The exam officials will prepare a LFAT 2021 merit list using scores of the entrance exam, with candidates with higher scores to be placed higher in the rank list.
