The Anna University in Chennai is one of the huge colleges and the best colleges of India with 185 acres of land. The automobile engineering is best in this college. Research and studies are best related to automobile engineering. The laboratories have the latest technology and tools too. It has various branches and has the separate channel TV permitted by ISRIO [Indian Space Research Organization ].My university work with ISRIO thus giving the industry exposure to all of us and also gaining lot of experiences [only those students who pass their TEST].Sports is not too good but research is best in the university. And encourage my all friends those who are opting for automobile engineering must take admissions in this university.

I'm in 2year and will give you complete review regarding our college.this college is situated in Chennai with good environment and facilities. Really, the campus placement of this college is very good.the company has already started to come here in college for recruitment. And hostel facilities like room temperature and foods are nice. Transportation is above average and canteen’s food is clean and good. North Indian food is also available in this canteen. Faculty teaching students are well appreciated. Overall, it is the best college for middle-class people.

Study Guides, Tips and Tricks Of Anna University

Batch of 2013 | BE Geoinformatics
There is always an ambiguity in the term Anna university ever since it became an affiliating university. If by Anna University you mean College of Engineering, Guindy, AC tech or MIT, then my answer would be relevant. The metrics I take are 1)Quality of Students The students are the most important stakeholders. On the positive side, the student community is vibrant. They have a lot of student associations like SQC, CTF , CSAU which transfers knowledge and passion to freshers who join the college. The placement and internship opportunities are pretty good (as this has become a huge factor). Alumni are present all around the world in key positions at top companies and are in constant interaction with current students through any of the above-mentioned student bodies. On research end, few students take up research internships at Germany, Canada during their third year(referring to UG) On the negative side, the student strength is drastically increased in the last few years. This has made some practical difficulties in infrastructure requirements. And since the top companies still provide the same number of offers that they did few years go. Students find it difficult to get to the top companies(called as dream ones in our college). Talent is not just a factor in placement, luck also plays a key role as you need to be one out of some 240 guys(which used to be 60 earlier). 2)Quality of Faculty: The college has some of the best profs and lecturers. They show immense interest in the subject they teach. But I feel the way the syllabus is framed, lacks the deeper understanding of intricacies involved. The assessment and exam schedules are too pressurizing for them to concentrate on this. To be frank project sessions are wasted on creating documentations. There are few faculties interested in spearheading research related stuff(one such example http://www.annauniv.edu/tacola/). But being the best college in a state, the research community should be still more active. 3)Infrastructure: Yeah, considerably a good infra. But considering its reputation, infrastructure needs to be improved. Few changes could even employ students during their vacations. I have left a lot of good things about my college as it might sound like exaggerating stuff. Similarly, I have left few bad things not to offend people

Anna University is one of the best when it comes to technical courses but they should try and develop the school of business studies much more. There is a clear lack of exposure for the students and the quality of education is mediocre. Apart from the brand name there is not much that the students can gain or develop in the two year period. inability of the placement cell to bring in reputed companies also doesn't help. The business school has a lot to develop before it can compete with the leading business schools in the country.

No Words To Describe It

Batch of 2017 | MBA
-The infrastructure is good but it could be better if authorities take some steps to do it. -The placement cell must take some extra efforts to bring in more companies for placements and take steps for more industry exposure by taking us to much more industrial visits. -My college life is already going well -I am a day scholar so no expectations regarding hostel.

Anna university has a great infrastructure and highly skilled faculty who share their knowledge in an interactive and understandable way. Good exposure to extra curricular activities and the hostel life was brilliant. The food in the mess was good. Various nationalities to interact with. Overall a highly recommended university to pursue engineering.

Amazing Learning Experience

The student community at Anna University is vibrant. Several student-run bodies conduct various technical and cultural fests. Being the Lady Vice President of the Students Association and Arts Society has helped me interact with the students, faculties and industrial people one-on-one. The cultural fests in college are the most entertaining and enjoyable part of college life in AU. The college carries out excellent research especially in fields of technology. The labs are well equipped and all the facilities for carrying out research are provided to students. On the other hand, the student strength has increased making it difficult for students to get into the top companies since the companies still provide the same number of offers. But since Anna University has such a strong alumni base, the college should try and exploit the same to get a number of dream offers in the coming years.

Summary of year 1

Posted on 17 Jun' 15 by Prasanna Balakrishnan
"As my first year in college draws to a close, I sit down to write on what has been a truly wonderful experience in an entirely new atmosphere. Being a CBSE student, you will always get an impression that you will never get a seat in College Of Engineering,Guindy, except if you belong to the 4% students coming from various quotas like FN,NRI,CWIGC,Sponsorship etc., Thankfully, I was one of those 4% students, an FN, and got Computer Science course with just a cutoff of 187/200. Joys unbound, happiness in plenty, and 4 years ahead in what is supposed to be the trickiest part of my life. Orientations, absolutely necessary for juniors, arrived on July 30,2015. The students coming in were in full mood, particularly those coming from other cities, districts, and some from other countries. College life will be always be challenging for Hostellers, as they face 2 situations, one, enjoying something in a totally new place, and two, manage stuff away from their home, parents, freinds etc., CEG has one of the best infrastructure one can ever imagine. What more does a person need with all necessary labs, canteen, library, and the play ground just within walking distance. And within that distance, the beautiful scenery of the trees, the gardens, just make you dance to their tunes, and you won't feel that you may travel long to reach a lab. Canteen- It's not just a canteen, adhayum thaandi(more than that). You can almost see a mini-restaurant in the college canteen, and all at cheap rates, nothing more than 25 rupees. The smell of dosas, the deliciousness of the juices, and the variety of meals, makes one feel like it is the best in the business. You can also try many combinations, like a gulab jamun in a chapati or an ice-cream, and the bread-omlet with chapati gravies, etc., Library- The famous author Carlos María Domínguez once said “To build up a library is to create a life. It’s never just a random collection of books.” Be it a quick nap or an all-nighter, students visit me for various reasons. Huge amount of variety is present in there - right form the old books to the latest in electronic media. You can get thousands of books of various genres ranging from classical volumes to science fiction. Feynman lectures also available there. Open for most of the day,lot of visitors can relax there with books., Most popular during the examination season, the air-conditioned reading room is especially popular among students. Library has seen right from the pre-exam joys/scariness and its aftermaths. Sports facilities are also very good. The sports ground is big enough to accomodate all sports, and you can get all necessary equipments with just an ID card from the sports room. The republic day and Independence day functions were all properly arranged, mainly due to collaboration of the NCC members, who work day and night to make every move precise and accurate. It also has a huge gallery, and spacious seats to host events. If this was my first year and I rave so much, I still have things to rave even more about, in my upcoming years at college "
