    Course Overview

Interventions and Calibration is an online certification course aimed at teaching students the approaches for modelling treatments of infectious diseases as well as for modelling vaccinations. The online course is designed to enable students to represent the effects of interventions such as the effects of vaccination in reducing susceptibility. The certification course is offered by Coursera which is a part of the Infectious Disease Modelling Specialisation.

Interventions and Calibration training covers how to model a leaky vaccine and the different types of vaccine and treatment effects. Through this online certification course, students will be able to use the basic SIR model and how to calibrate this model to use data. With the online course, students will be able to identify the relationship between models and real-world epidemiological data. The online course will enable the students to formulate important concepts related to vaccination models and the approach followed in order to handle them in a healthcare business.

    Eligibility Criteria

    Certification Qualifying Details

To qualify for the Interventions and Calibration certification by Coursera, candidates are required to complete the full course and the final assessment. They are also required to attain a qualifying passing grade.

    What you will learn

The Interventions and Calibration certification syllabus will help students perform the SIR model against time-series data and incorporate vaccination into a SIR model, among others. They will be able to understand the role of mathematical models in accessing the data while modelling vaccination.

Upon completion of the Interventions and Calibration certification course, students will be able to learn about two simple approaches to computer-based model calibration- the least square and the maximum-likelihood approach.

    Who it is for

Interventions and Calibration online course is designed for healthcare professionals such as health officers, health inspectors and healthcare administrators to gain practical understanding when it comes to how to model a leaky vaccine and the different types of treatment effects and vaccines. The online course helps them perform real-life vaccine treatments on patients to strengthen their expertise in the healthcare sector.
