Great Lakes Institute of Management PGPM Admissions 2026
ApplyAdmissions Open | Globally Recognized by AACSB (US) & AMBA (UK) | 17.8 LPA Avg. CTC for PGPM 2025
Hello Aspirant,
I am unable to clearly understand 8/7/8 but I am assuming , those are your 10th,12th and graduation percentages ,which are 80%,70% and 80% respectively.If yes, then , to qualify for an interview call from IIM Ahmedabad, you should have at least 90% in 10th and more than 80-85% in 12th and around 80-90% in graduation. However this is in addition to you 98-99+ CAT percentile. Therefore with these scores , a call from IIM A has less scope. So if you are in 12th aim and score a minimum of 80% ,else if you at graduation level, then score more than 90. In case you are done with schooling and graduation, then nothing much is left to do, prepare really well and score exceptionally well in CAT and hope for the best to happen.

Hello Aspirant,
Your 10th and 12th percentages are more than good for IIMs. According to the eligibility criteria as you have scored , more than 90% in 10th , your chances to get an interview call will be higher, provided you have a very good percentile in CAT exam.Note that your graduation marks will also matter hence try to score around 80-90% in it. Also securing top percentile will not assure you IIM seat, the top CAT score will make you eligible for Written Test/Group Discussion and Personal Interview (PI) based on which you will be selected for MBA. The cutoff requirements will vary based on your reservation category.For other top IIMs too it will be more or less the same. You should aim for a minimum of 95-97 percentile to even stand a chance. So prepare well for CAT exam .

See if you have good CAT percentile but have average academic performance then there are less chances of getting shortlisted for IIM A because IIM A shortlist the candidates on the basis of academic performance as well as CAT percentile and also it considers work experience (if any), So if you don't have any work experience then also you are eligible for admission to IIM A. Now the academic record which you have mentioned is average till class 12th but your graduation performance but in accordance with the given data if you score around 99 percentile in CAT then you might have shot at IIM A.

Please read this answer in Browser mode and not in the App Mode.
There is no specific eligibility criteria per se. You need to score more than 95 percentile in CAT. And based on your grades in your 10th, 12th and Graduation and the streams you have chosen, you will be rated on a scale. And the points are calculated accordingly. For example, if you sore 60% in your 10th, you will be awarded 5 points. If you score 80%, you will be awarded more points. It is the same with even 12th and Graduation. The total marks are calculated and based on your Category, you will have a cut off to clear and Candidates are shortlisted based on that. Please read this for a better understanding of the admission criteria in IIM A.
IIM A has the following percentiles as the minimum cut offs for 2019 across all Categories.

And then the Rating scores for Bachelor's degrees are as follows:
|

|
<=55 |
1 |
|
>55 and <=60 |
2 |
|

And for professional degrees, the rating scale looks like this:

And then work experience is considered too for those Candidates who have it. The scores from each level of studies are added up. And the no.of Candidates shortlisted per each Category will be as follows:
UR: 100
NC-OBC, Trans: 57
SC: 32
ST: 16
PWD: 6
And after being shortlisted based on these criteria, Candidates have to be shortlisted also for WAT and PI rounds. The whole process can be checked at their page: https://www.iima.ac.in/web/pgp/apply/domestic/admission/selection-process
There is a rating system based on your scores for IIMs. You are rated based on your scores in 10th and 12th and then shortlisted. For example, if you look at 10th percentage vs marks,
|
Percentage in the 10th |
Rating |
|

Now in 12th, you can be a Science student or an Arts student or a Commerce student.
Now coming to the 12th, it looks like this for various Streams:
|

Rating |
|
<=55 |

Hello
Admission in IIM is depend on your cat score . So you have to score good marks in cat. As per the eligibility criteria for cat you must have minimum 50% aggregate marks in your graduation. There is no such condition on your 10th and 12th standard marks .
Hope my answer will help you
.
Thank you
Hello Aspirant,
Firstly congrats on an awesome CAT percentile. With this percentile you can expect calls from IIMs but for the top ones your high school matters too. As far as the eligibility criteria is concerned , you are fine as the minimum percentage needed in 10th and 12th is 50+, but chances may be less that you get a call from IIM Ahemdabad. You see,even though higher weightage is given to CAT percentile , IIMs always goes with high merit candidates , so people who have score 85-90% and above in class 10th and 12th seems to have higher chance of receiving interview call. IIMs usually put separate ratings out of 10 (points) for 10th score,12th score ,graduation score as well as years of work experience. You may checkout the rating chart in their official website to get a clear idea.Now even if you get selected it is only for the interview round and IIM interview rounds are pretty crucial at deciding your admission and it is not that easy, , so be well prepared in advanced .
