M.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering at IIIT Bangalore Offline Course

M. Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering is a two-year (4 semesters) programme.  A student needs to earn at least 64 credits, with at least a CGPA of 2.4 (in a 4 point grading system) to graduate with M. Tech degree. M.Tech (ECE) is a four-semester programme. After the completion of a 4 semester, students will be conferred with IIITB’s master’s degree in M.Tech in Electronic Systems Design (ESD). The first three semesters of the programme constitute academic coursework. During the fourth semester, a student can either take up an industry internship or pursue academic research in the institute leading to an M. Tech. thesis.

Curriculum:

For the first semester, students have to choose the courses worth of least 16 credits from the following list of courses: 

1. Digital CMOS VLSI Design (4 Credits)
2. Analog CMOS VLSI Design (4 Credits)
3. Machine Learning (4 Credits)
4. Mathematics for Machine Learning (4 Credits)
5. Networking and Communication (4 Credits)
6. System Software (2 Credits) *
7. System design with FPGA (2 Credits) *
8. Principles of Embedded Systems (2 Credits)  *

The students have to choose 4 elective courses in the second and the third semester. The last semester will be thesis/internship, where they can choose the course to specialise in one of the following areas.

• VLSI Systems (VLSI)
• Networking  and Communication (NC)
• Signal Processing  and Pattern Recognition (SP)
