Please understand the fact that this query raised by you is a very complicated one as both are different domains of engineering and thus there is no point of comparison in between then as they are very different from each other.

The faculty of both the departments are very experienced and qualified and each of the departments has dedicated and proper labs for academic purposes at JNTU so both the departments impart a similar quality of education in both the fields.

What you need to understand is, Petroleum Engineering is specially the engineering study related to petroleum production such as drilling, mining, refining, etc and the companies for recruitment in this field are ONGC, HPCL, etc., whereas Chemical Engineering deals with the engineering studies of any and chemicals such as soft drinks, acids, industrial chemicals, chemical bombs, etc and the fields of placement include companies like Coca-Cola, Pepsi, 7Up, Police Department, etc.

Firstly I congratulate you on securing 227th rank in AP ICET 2019 entrance exam and now to answer your question, in order to get a seat for MBA at JNTU, Kakinada the expected rank to be secured is below 100 and thus you have a low possibility of getting a seat at JNTU however there are other good colleges that are accepting AP ICET 2019 scores for admission into their MBA course where you should be able to get a seat. These colleges are:

• Andhra University, Visakhapatnam.
• VRSEC, Vijayawada.
• Dr. Lankapalli Bullayya College, Visakhapatnam.
• AITS, Kadapa.
• LBRCE, Krishna.

I suggest you to pursue Petroleum Engineering in JNTU Kakinada rather than Marine Engineering in Andhra University. Eventhough Andhra University is top University, the opportunities for this stream are not good enough. So petroleum Engineering in JNTU Kakinada is better. Some Core companies visit the campus as well as few IT few companies recruit Petroleum Engineering students.

As you mention your rank in appgecet but you didn't mention your category as your category also play important role to get admission but with your rank you may have very less chance to get the admission in JNTUK..

Has you mention your rank in GATE with these rank chances are less to get top colleges like AU ,JNTUK ,JNTUA other..

Fifth category also play important role if you are from St or SC category you may try there and may you get there till the last round but is still the chances are less..

Universities like Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University are the one to be filled first in the counselling of AP PGECET and due to this reason the rank to make it into the college is pretty high. According to your rank and OC category might be difficult.
