hii Pranshath!!
the Sastra take admission by two streams

while in case of stream 1 it takes on the basis of JEE marks

and on the other hand it takes on +2marks while they take in with above 90+% of students on the both cases you are not eligible.

all the best:)

Dear Yashwant,

After the completion of polytechnic exams, SASTRA will conduct a 1 month course in which people who are interested in studying Btech after diploma/polytechnic join.( But the student should not have any backlogs before final semester in diploma course and with a overallpercentage of 80 or above).

During last days of course there will be a test conducted on the subjects you learned on that course. Seeing your attendance percentage during the course and performance in the test , you will be called for counselling on your stream.

I have seen the people who join in the 1 month course ,definitely got selected in SASTRA. In selection percentage it will be overall99%.

ear Mate,
As we all know Think SASTRA Think MERIT, to get a mechanical engineering course would be the toughest ask.
Now there are 2 streams of counseling.
In stream 1, 70% of seats are allocated.
In stream 2, 30% of seats are allocated.
Stream 1:
In this stream, both JEE Main marks and 12th Board marks will be considered, where 25%weightage is for JEE Main score and 75% weightage is for Board marks. For example, if your JEE Main score is 185 and you score 95% in board marks. Then your aggregate score is = 0.25*185 + 0.75*95 = 117.5.
SASTRA will publish a separate rank list for stream 1 based on the aggregate score of all applicants.
Since 70% seats are allocated in this stream,
If you come under ALL INDIA Category and if you are called for forenoon session of Day 1 counseling, then you will get Mechanical mostly.
If you come under Tamil Nadu Category and if you are called for Day 1 counseling or Day 2 first slot, you will get Mechanical mostly.
If you come under Trichy/Tanjore Category and if you are called for Day 1 or Day 2 counseling, you will get Mechanical Mostly.
Stream 2:
This is purely based on your 12th standard marks. And your normalized 12th board marks score will be taken to eliminate partiality between State, Central and International boards. Now if you 12th marks in Cbse board is 90% and if the topper of your Cbse board has a score of 97%, then your normalized score is = (90/97)*100 = 92.78 %.
Again a separate rank list will be published for Stream 2 too.
Since there are only 30% seats allocated through this stream 2. The counseling will happen only for a day.

Thank you :)

Hello Akash,

I hope you are doing well.
Your 10+2 marks is extremely well.Keep it up for that.
But 48 marks in jee seems to be less. Also you need to tell me you category so that i could provude you information to depth.
As for now i can say that if you belong to SC/ST category then you have a little bit chance to get sastra college.

I HOPE THIS HELPS!

BEST OF LUCK!

The fee at Sastra University is 65,000 per semester, with 5% increase every year after the second year as given on their website.
At the time of admission, there is 16000 you'll have to pay in the name of deposits, which is one time. This is only the tuition fee though, accommodation is separate.

Hey Sai.

Shastra university does not release its official cut off list for its admiasion. It releases a rank list which is prepared on the baisi of JEE Main scores+normalized score of class 12th marks.

70% seats are offered on the bais of this calculation while 30% seats are offeredon the basis of candidates performance in class 12th. They have to secure at least 60% marks in aggregate in PCM.

Hope this helps. All the best.

Dear Praveen,

Admissions in Sastra University are conducted in two streams

1) Stream 1 (Based on JEE Main +2 marks) for 70% of seats.

2) Stream 2 (Based on +2 marks) for 30% of seats.

You can apply for the college through any one stream.

Good Luck!!

College Infrastructure

My experience with this college is a mixed one ..The infrastructure of the university is good and is the most remarkable for the computing programs The research facilities here are top notch with fully equipped Labs and great professors (not all but a few ones are very experienced and influential in their field..other buildings are average and there is a wifi facility available 24/7 for laptops..no cycle is available ..The food is good..but everything has its bad days too..the form is quite clean

it is good feel to write review for helping juniors
