The core companies that come for recruiting mechanical engineers are very low only few people in mechanical engineering gets recruited because there is a lot of competition and you need to have a lot of technical knowledge and if your performance is excellent then only you will get recruited and although there is 90 percent placements in sastra University the people who get recruited in core companies are very less and highest package offered for mechanical engineering in sastra University is 7 lack per anum.

Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy , popularly known as SASTRA University , is a deemed to be university in the town of Thirumalaisamudram. The university has a good placement for IT students with the highest salary package of INR 28 LPA in top recruiting companies like Microsoft, IBM, and TCS. As per the recent placements, Amazon recruited students with the highest salary package of INR 28 LPA and the average package that students got was INR 9.3 LPA. • B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering at Srinivasa Ramanujan Centre, Thanjavur - 120 seats
• B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering at Srinivasa Ramanujan Centre, Thanjavur - 120 seats
• B.Tech Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Srinivasa Ramanujan Centre, Thanjavur - 60 seats
• B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering at Srinivasa Ramanujan Center, Kumbakonam - 120 seats
• B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering at Srinivasa Ramanujan Center, Kumbakonam - 120 seats

Sastra University is an UGC approved and NAAC accredited college located in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. The university offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Doctoral degrees in various specializations. Admission to these courses is via JEE Main, CLAT, or GATE examination.

The cutoff keep changing every year since it depends on a number of factors. Based on past year data the cutoff of different branch is as follows:

• CSE  <750
• ECE  <900
• Electrical or Mechanical < 1100
• IT  <1300
• others  branches - below 2100

So accordingly you can predict your branch. The cutoff is approximation and is subjected to change.

Both the colleges are equally good in its place. But if you see that NIT Andhra Pradesh would give you open opportunities as it is under government. Also the placements are very good. The average package is also higher than Sastra University. NITs provide better opportunity because every big companies hire students from here. So the talent and hardwork is not wasted.

NIT Mizoram is a low ranked NIT as compared to Sastra University. Sastra University has nirf ranking 31. Both universities provides good placement opportunities to students. Other factors such as strict discipline, guidelines in Sastra University is better as compared to the nit Mizoram. Faculty members are highly qualified and experienced in both campuses. But more exposure is provided in Sastra University and to compare, not Mizoram organizes many GIAN courses which are not available in many of private institutions.

Applicants under stream 1 will be admitted to 70% of the seats based on JEE (Main) 2020 scores and normalized 10+2 marks. The weightage for JEE Main scores and 10+2 marks will be 25% & 75% respectively. The aggregate JEE Main score and normalized 10+2 aggregate will be taken together as per the weightage and applicants will be ranked based on the resultant combined score.

The combined score of all students will be used to determine the SASTRA Rank and admission will be based on the SASTRA Rank secured.

Hi dear aspirant , every year around 360  aspirant are being enrolled in cse stream and your rank being 402 have high chances of getting a seat in cse branch , since they usually call around 500 candidate in first round of counseling . Hope it will help.
