A certain sum of money is divided among A,B, C such that A gets half of what B and C together get.B get one third of what A andC together get.If A got 500 more than B, then how much money was divided?

KUNAL LANJEWAR 10th Dec, 2019

Hello Rishabh,

It is a simple numerical of simultaneous equations.

Let, the distributions received by A, B, C be x, y, z respectively.

So, from first condition,

x = 0.5 ( y + z )

So, 2x - y - z + 0................ ( 1 )

From second condition,

y = 1/3 ( x + z )

So, x - 3y + z + 0 .................... ( 2 )

Now, from third condition, x = y + 500 ........... ( 3 )

Putting value of ( 3 ) in eqn ( 1 ), we get,

y - z = -1000

So, z = y + 1000...... ( 4 )

Now, From ( 2 ), ( 3 ) & ( 4), we get,

y = 1500/-

Putting this value in eqn ( 3 ) and ( 4 ) we get,

x = 2000/-

z = 2500/-

Hence, the amount distributed among A, B and C was 2000/-, 1500/- & 2500/- respectively.

Best Wishes.

Which is better for bsc physical science with chemistry in du... Acharya Narendra Dev college or Deen dyal upadhya college...

Sourandhi Saha Student Expert 20th Jul, 2019
Acharya Narenda Dev will be a better choice than Deen Dayal Upadhyay College. The infrastructure and faculty of Acharya narendra dev college is well known.
The fees is also quite low, that is in first year 6000, second year around 7000, and in third year it's around 8000, whereas the fees in Deen Dayal Upadhyay college, is much expensive.
Acharya Narendra dev college provides job and placement opportunities.
Placement is good . There are major companies like sbi ,niit , axis bank, IT companies etc,. every year many companies had come for placements.
But, Deen Dayal college, doesn't provide any good placement as well.

Should I continue with andc or switch into another college in next cutoff ?

Hi Priyanshu!

Depends on your interest, courses that you are eligible for and various other factors like travelling cost, if you get a better course in some other college then you should go ahead. Don't switch for the sake of college your course and degree matters a lot more than that.

Best of luck!

Hello there

As far as both these colleges are compared,  I will suggest you to take admission in Atma Ram sanatan dharm college,  it is one of the best college of South campus, after Venketeshwar college. I would have prefered ARSD over acharya Narendra dev college,  because of better faculty and better job opportunities.

Hope I am clear.

acharya narendra dev is a decent college of Delhi University. But if you have options then you should definitely seitch your college. You should switch your college to dyal singh college. It is a very popular college of Delhi University and is famous for its societies. Also the location of this college is best in Delhi. It is located near khan market. The area is very good. Also the faculty of the college is well experienced and extremely helpful.
