Bipin Tripathi Kumaon Institute of Technology was established in 1986 as Kumaon Engineering College by Shri Narayan Dutt Tiwari, Government of India. The institute was renamed Bipin Tripathi Kumaon Institute of Technology in 2011. The BTKIT Dwarahat is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The autonomous institute is also recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
BTKIT Dwarahat has also been selected for the TEQIP-III project. TEQIP-III is a quality improvement programme of the Government of India, funded by the World Bank. The Bipin Tripathi Kumaon Institute of Technology offers courses in the fields of engineering and computer science. The courses offered by BTKIT Dwarahat are B.Tech, M.Tech, M.C.A. and Ph.D. The BTKIT Dwarahat is an affiliated college of Uttarakhand Technical University Dehradun and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
The mission of the college is to impart quality education through research and innovations with the vision of creating professionals to serve society and the nation. Several infrastructural facilities with boy's and girl's hostels, library, health centre, IT infrastructure, bank, cafeteria, wi-fi, guest room, etc are provided by Bipin Tripathi Kumaon Institute of Technology. The BTKIT Dwarahat also has a placement cell, which conducts various placement-related activities. The BTKIT Dwarahat offers scholarships too to deserving candidates. Merit Scholarships, SC, ST, and OBC Scholarships are some of the BTKIT Dwarahat scholarships. BTKIT Dwarahat Scholarship
Bipin Tripathi Kumaon Institute of Technology offers many scholarships to meritorious and needy aspirants. BTKIT Dwarahat scholarships are Merit Scholarships, SC, ST and OBC Scholarships, National Scholarships and Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme. Candidates can avail only one scholarship at a time. To avail Bipin Tripathi Kumaon Institute of Technology scholarships, candidates must meet the eligibility criteria. Merit Scholarships are awarded on the basis of merit to 10% of the candidates admitted to the 1st year of the B.Tech programme. Merit score is calculated based on the scores of the first-semester exam. BTKIT Dwarahat scholarship amount for this scheme is Rs. 3000 per annum. Under Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme, diploma-holder candidates are awarded Rs. 1 lakh per annum for admission to the second year of the B.Tech programme on the basis of merit. The classrooms are spacious and well-ventilated, with comfortable seating and advanced audio-visual equipment. The cafeteria serves a wide range of delicious and healthy food options, and the student lounge is a cozy spot to relax and socialize.
