The college is located in a beautiful valley in Dwarahat with a soothing weather. The college offers B.Tech and M.tech in various streams. College has a good infrastructure. And during all these years faculty has been quite supportive. Though the number of faculties is low. Also the Placements aren't up to the mark. Overall experience of the college life and hostel life was good. Though changes are necessary for betterment of the Institute.

Bipin Tripathi Kumaon Engineering College is an autonomous institute of government of Uttarakhand. The college is situated in Dwarahat. One can love the place in terms of natural beauty. The college offers Bachelor's degree in Engineering in seven trades that includes Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and communication, Computer science, Civil, Chemical , Bio chemical. College also offers M.tech in several disciplines. It also offers full time MCA. The infrastructure of the college is good. There are departmental blocks, administrative block, hostel building, faculty residents, central workshop, stadium, multi purpose hall, several canteens, central computer facility centre, etc. Labs of certain departments need to enhanced with proper equipments. Faculties are highly qualified and are very supporting towards the students of there departments. College management could have been better. The college hostels are in good conditions and are safe. Looking towards the placements, the provides almost no placements, however this can improved by focusing on the training and placement cell of the college. On the whole I had a good experience of my college life.

Bipin Tripathi kumaon Institute of technology (formerly known as kumaon engineering college) is an autonomous government college affiliated to Uttarakhand technical University. The college is located amidst the serene hilly region in dwarahat in district Almora. The college has a good infrastructure with a nice studying environment. There are a total of seven departments Mechanical engineering, civil engineering, computer science engineering, chemical engineering, biochemical engineering, electrical engineering and electronics engineering. Also the college facilitates for MCA and P.hd. The institute offers for M.tech in some of the departments. The campus has a well equipped central computer facility centre for easy accessibility to students. The departments have their respective laboratories. The teachers are well versed with their respective subjects but the pedagogical techniques are not advanced and updated and that needs some improvement. The placements in the college are average with TCS, Emami etc visiting the campus but that can certainly be improved by a good training and placement strategy. The college has various alumni excelling in various fields. There is a good student crowd in all the departments. Aarohan (technical fest),spardha (sports meet), prolifia(alumni meet) are some of the college fest that are held along with various departmental fests seminars and workshops which are held around .The institute has a total of ten hostels , seven for boys and three for girls. The hostels are equipped with all the basic facilities but nothing more than that like the ones can be found in any private college. The hostel authorities are quite strict for the rules and your outing timings. Also the campus is ragging free. The affordability of the place is high. Since the institute is situated in a remote hilly area, there is not much accessibility to various things as would be in any college near to a city location . But, that makes the adventure worth it. It makes you make things right on your own if they are not. Overall the college is average but better than any average private college.

Bipin Tripathi Kumaon Institute Of Technology Dwarahat( formwerly known as Kumaon Engineering College ) is situated near Ranikhet, a hill station in Uttarakhand. The landscape and weather conditions of the place provides immense peace. The infrastructure of the college is also good as compared to the place where it is situated. Since the it is a bit isolated area there is lesser scope for personality development for students. But eventually it depends on the students of the college. The placement record of the college is not up to mark. Being a government college lesser attention is paid towards placements. Faculty to student ratio of the college is low. But since it is a state government college it is much better than other colleges. Hostel life is quite good. And conditions are also good. On the whole , the college is okay and one can give a shot . Hotels are good and much better facilities could be provided to students

Mediocre college environment

The college is good in its infrastructure, faculty behaviour and support and hostels. It provides average incampus facilities, though there is a scope of improvement for some of them. The college is poor in campus placement and industry exposure. It does not help a student improve his skills . College management could have been better. On an average for me the college is an average one. Its quite good on affordability(since it is a government college). If the facilities and placements are improved to some extent , the college will be a good one.

The college is situated amidst the beautiful valley of Dwarahat near Ranikhet in the state of Uttarakhand. In addition to its beautiful landscape, the place has a fantastic soothing weather. Though the place is a bit isolated, the college has good infrastructure. The hostel facility is also good for girls but an average one for boys. The college offers graduation as well as post graduation programmes . It includes B.tech , M.tech, MCA and even phd programmes. Faculty student ratio is low. There is a need to increase the number of faculties in the institution. Industry exposure and placement record is poor and even there is no scope of personality development. These are the areas where there is a lot of scope for improvement. Do I would say it is average state goverment college.

This college is surrounded by hills and has an amazing scenic view but the poor thing is that, here you can appreciate the beauty of nature. One should not come to this place for education as there are no facilities for a student which he/she requires while pursuing his B.Tech. Campus placements are almost zero. Even one will always find that the facilities are less than the number of subjects in a semester. But this college has an advantage when it comes to fee structure has our college charges much less than the huge amount of fee charged by private colleges.

Please do not go for this college unless you don't left with any other option...take a year for preparation after 12th but donot hurry...faculty treat student like animals because there are no power given to student...NO technical and cultural events conduct because all the fund from the government is eaten up by the top officials.Guys believe me you can confirm all this to any other student of this college n it will be far more better to go for a good private universities or if money is the issue than take a year leave and prepare hard so to get a good government institute...all the best.

Learnt alot. Faculties are hard working n knowledgeable too. They helped in improving skills n efficiency of thinking n performing. Made beautiful memories with colleagues, seniors n faculties. Learnt to use time qualitatively n precisely. Helped in improving personality. Interaction with people have become easier because of confidence development by the college events. Learning speed n capacity has increased from earlier.

Due to poor college faculty, inexperience college staff with lack of knowledge,I would never recommend this college to any student. Most of the students here has taken admission due to less college fee as compare to other colleges and being a government college.

Good alumini. IEEE workshops and contests help students to excel. Student activity club improves overall personality.Strong alumini support. Most of the passouts settled in US and Uk and others are working in prestigious companies. Few graduates have been working in companies like google, facebook, microsoft etc. Few started their own ventures. Huge facilities and sports stadium. Beautiful campus. Overall a great place to spend 4 years and build a career.

My transformation into an all round personality

Batch of Jan. 1, 2014 | B.Tech Electrical Engineering
My college is located in a very beautiful location in Dwarahat ,Uttrakhand. The location among the hills makes the weather pleasant throughout the year. The college has a very big campus including all the facilities for sports, laboratories, cultural functions. The college encourages students to take up extracurricular activities e.g I took up singing. The hostels have enough space to accommodate the students .There is high-speed wifi available 24*7 in the hostel. The college crowd is very diverse ,coming from different states of the country. The faculty is very good. The only place where college lacks is industry interaction .There is very less interaction with industry leaders and it should be improved

B.T.K.I.T ( Bipin Tripathi Kumaun Institute of Technology) formerly known as K.E.C ( Kumaun Engineering College), Dwarahat is one of the three government Institutes of engineering in Uttarakhand. It is situated in the valley region so the climate is quite charming. It is situated about 4 km before the Dwarahat and hence is quite and peaceful place and has a studious environment without too much distraction. The infrastructure of the college is very good and the college is spread over a very large area. It has a Multi-Purpose Hall for the events and a computer centre facility available to students without any cost. It has two playgrounds and other than that different small grounds for games in the hostel campus itself. Hostels are large and spacious with 24*7 electricity facility. Faculties are experts in their fields and are very helping in nature. Overall it is a very good college with great facilities.

College needs more development and well-qualified faculty

Posted on 14 Feb' 16 by abhishek adhikari
Batch of Jan. 1, 2018
I think B.tech is a professional course. So it needs to be well developed in every field like practical labs, classrooms and enough technology to provide students with good knowledge. Other than that well-qualified teachers are essential for a college to build good engineers.

nice hostel life but other problems like water n electricity

Batch of Jan. 1, 2006 | B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering
College had a nice location n very studious students. But there were problems of electricity and water sometimes and during exams a lot of time went in to sort out these issues. Faculty was nice for few subjects and ad hoc for others who just gave lecture notes n all. Students did most of the study on their own. Seniors helped juniors a lot and most alumni is placed well in various companies.

A college in the hills

Posted on 09 Jul' 15 by Sagar Raina
This is the review for Bipin Tripathi Kumaon Institute of Technology. The college comes under Uttarakhand technical university and is located in Dwarahat, which is 30 kilometers from Ranikhet, a famous hill station. Situated at about 1300 mts above sea level the college has a wonderful infrastructure spread over an area of 155 acres of the lush green serene environment. The college has 7 engineering disciplines to choose from namely mechanical, civil, electrical, bio-chemical, chemical, computer science, and electronics and communication. The college also offers MCA and M.tech in various disciplines. The college has a total of 11 hostels for both girls and boys. The weather stays pleasant throughout the year and has plenty of hill stations nearby. Now comes the sad part. The college has below average faculty and almost useless labs. Other activities apart from studies are almost zero. The college has two fest in an year, Aarohan, the technical fest and Scintilla, the cultural one. These fest are financed by students alone and no funds are given by the college administration. The college has very poor placement record, The last batch saw only TCS coming for recruitment. However, this college is a paradise for drug addicts and alcoholics as these things are cheap and easily available. So, on a scale of 10, i would give Bipin Tripathi Kumaon Institute of Technology a 2.5. Not a place to go if you want to really come out as an engineer.

Overall i am satisfied with all the things

Posted on 21 May' 15 by Shalini Gupta
Faculties are good indeed but yes talking abt facilities there is an issue abt it actually there is a big prob of water over here .. If you r imagining a place with 24×7 water supply then u r mistaken .. Infrastructure is satisfactory in fact good the lab are well maintained n the central computing facility center is a place to die for...Canteen are good but yes there is an issue with mess food as well some of u might not like it ... Yes we have a lot of sports facilities ..major games being volley ,cricket badminton,basketball..etc ...but yes its a place where we have lits of restriction for girls college infra is satisfactory you are going to get good class rooms but the maintainance for the same is not done properly ...placements are not very good except for cse branch not is the exposure .. but overall um satisfied with all the things
