Placements

During my time at Catholicate College, Pathanamthitta, the placement opportunities for BA English students were quite satisfactory. While the college mainly focuses on academic and intellectual development, it also provides career guidance and training sessions to help students prepare for future opportunities. The Career Guidance and Placement Cell regularly conducted seminars, workshops, and orientation programs that helped us understand various career paths such as teaching, journalism, civil services, and content writing. Though BA English is not a purely placement-oriented course, the college encouraged students to pursue internships and higher studies. A few reputed companies and educational institutions visited the campus, and students from professional courses like Commerce and Science got direct placements. However, English students benefited greatly from skill-development programs, resume-building sessions, and communicative English training that made us more confident and employable. Overall, the college provided a strong foundation and guidance to build a successful career after graduation.

The college conducts interviews and placement drives, but the success rate is quite low. Only a few students manage to secure placements, so most have to explore opportunities independently. I think that makes the placements in this college poor.
