The Central Sericultural Research and Training Institute, Berhampore, is the only institute in the whole country that has the honor and prestige in improving sericulture in India.   • PGD in Vanya Silk: This one-year specialised programme is dedicated to non-mulberry or wild silks, with an annual intake of 20 students. Students are generally admitted based on their educational qualifications related to forestry, entomology, or closely allied disciplines. Like the PGD in Mulberry, this one-year programme offers in-depth and hands-on learning in the production and research of Vanya silks.

Both of them would journey in the understanding acquisition of theoretical and practical knowledge regarding silkworm culture as concerned with production, pest management, reeling, and quality control of silk.
