Gayathri College of Nursing, Bengaluru is one of the premier self-financing nursing institutions in Bangalore, Karnataka. At Gayathri College of Nursing, the admission process is so put in place to admit only the most hard working and efficient students into their nursing programs. There are seven full-time nursing courses offered at the Gayathri College of Nursing, both undergraduate and postgraduate.

The admission eligibility changes with various courses. For ek Bachelor course like B.Sc Nursing, usually, the requirement is that the candidate should be 10+2 completed in science subjects. The candidates who wish to pursue a master's degree in M.Sc Nursing specializations have a need to gain a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Different courses have a varied academic requirement and some have age limits.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Sc Nursing : This general course takes about four years with 60 seats. Candidates should have completed 10+2 with science subjects in order to get the application for admission. The admission process likely involves merit-based selection based on the performance of the candidate about the qualifying examination.

Post Basic B.Sc Nursing: This program has a capacity of 50 seats and is meant for registered nurses who are upgrading their qualifications. Candidates holding a diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) can apply.

M.Sc Nursing: The college of nursing provides a specialized program at the master's level with specific seat allocation for each degree specialization:

  • M.Sc Medical Surgical Nursing (6 seats)
  • M.Sc Obstetrics and Gynaecology Nursing (6 seats)
  • M.Sc Child Health Nursing (6 seats)
  • M.Sc Psychiatric Nursing (5 seats)
  • M.Sc Paediatric Nursing (2 seats)

For M.Sc programs, candidates must hold a B.Sc Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc Nursing qualification. The admission procedure will also take into account the academic performance of the candidate in his or her bachelor's degree and might add another examination for an interview or an entrance test.
