Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Life Science is a three-year full-time undergraduate Course offered by Hansraj College, Delhi and affiliated to University of Delhi, Delhi.

The exact nature and nomenclature of this course are yet to be finalized by the University. In its original form, this is an interdisciplinary course with a board base that caters to the students who aim to pursue the career in research/teaching in Basic Science, Biotechnology and modern disciplines such as Nanotechnology, Biophysics, and biochemistry. The course focuses on the analytical and technical skills of students. The subjects taught are Botany, Chemistry, Zoology, Computer Science and Mathematics along with a paper on communication skills in English. Students admitted to the course find further opportunities in educational/ research institutions and industry. Students of this course are taught by faculty members of Botany, Zoology, Chemistry and Mathematics departments.

Eligibility Criteria

Qualifying examinations for the purpose of admission to the first year of undergraduate courses offered by the University of Delhi shall be Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (Class XII) of the Central Board of Secondary Education or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto. The applicants seeking admission to the undergraduate courses offered by the University should have passed the qualifying examination obtaining minimum marks as specified for each of the courses in subsequent sections.

45% or more marks in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Biotechnology/ Biochemistry (Practical & Theory together) and passing in one compulsory language (i.e. English).

45% or more marks in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry and 40% in one compulsory language.

College Infrastructure

The college infrastructure is good; it has all the basic and advanced facilities, like well-modernized practical labs, an automated library, multiple canteens, and a common room for all genders. Classrooms are fully air-conditioned, with smart boards in some classes only. The college is wifi equipped with a boys hostel and an indoor and outdoor sports complex. Canteens are clean and provide tasty and hygienic food.

College Infrastructure

Infrastructure of college was very good. The classrooms and laboratories were fully furnished and laboratories had all the equipment required for the practical sessions. The library of the college were equiped with all the books and also previous year question papers were there for all the courses as well as competitive exams.
